real review with multiple details
So let’s start off on where the actual trail begins. On google maps look for “Cami Boquer” and park in the parking lot. The trail begins with you going through a locked gate. The opening to the door portion is on the left and leads you to a manor that doesn’t look like anyone lives in. You’ll approach a second gate that looks locked. Look for the chain loop on one of the spikes and lift up.
Here is details about the hike: You’ll walk through the valley for about 20 or so minutes. Then you’ll find yourself going up and over the hill where you’ll see water! Not so fast...you’re not that close. Pick a path farthest to the right, yet all of the paths do lead you to the beach. This hike is TOUGH, and during the day with the sun out, please bring water! I would highly recommend hiking shoes, and water shoes.
Details about the beach: it isn’t what i’d call snorkeling...there are fish, yet i’d rave more about the views and the feel of the water after hiking to get there!
Overall, be prepared for sweating and a medium hike. But, man when you get there, you know you made a good choice! The hike is not for anyone who doesn’t have balance, their is a lot of...
Read moreTo get to this Cala you need to take a bus from playa Formentor, as cars are not allowed. The bus is cheap and airconditioned and goes to Cap Formentor. The stop for Cala Boquer is the same stop for Cala Murta and is about 15 minutes from playa Formentor. Once you get of the bus, there is a descent from the stop down to the water which is a narrow rugged trail and can be treacherous in places. It certainly is not suitable for anyone who is disabled or has difficulty with steep uneven surfaces. Once we had arrived, the water was quite dirty. There was a lot of plastic and rubbish floating near the shore and the water was teeming with jellyfish. There were also goats there that approached us for food and put their heads into our bags. If you have made your way to playa Formentor, you are probably best staying there as it is more beautiful, has facilities...
Read moreThis wild beach is just BEAUTIFUL. This hike in itself is worth it! The hike through the canyon feels a bit out of this world and the remote bay is very peaceful. It was clean and there were only a few people (we went there in the late afternoon in October). I would recommend hiking shoes for the last part of the trail but you will survive in sneakers. If you like swimming nude but don't want to be exposed, this is the place. There is a rock in the water so you can swim there, take off your swimming trunks, take a naked swim, put them back on and no one will notice (or feel uncomfortable). You have to pass two gates to get to the canyon. The second gate was locked but we were able to squeeze through it. On the way back, however, the chain was tighter so we had to jump...
