Some information for those planning to go by car: We got to the main ramp (around 4pm) but couldn't get through (with staff commenting that the ramp was closed). We decided to leave the car and go by bus (the bus stop is right next to the parking lot that is next to the road). When we were waiting for the bus, the staff raised the ramp. We could get to Es Colomer by car, but for Cap Formentor we encountered the ramp again and had to leave the car in the car park (large free car park) and wait for the bus. So, you can only go to Cap Formentor by bus. The nature and the view are beautiful, there is a cafe near the lighthouse....
Read moreBreath taking view, but your timing can be crucial. I wanted to drive up there around 9.30 -10.00 in the morning (September) but the road was crowded with cars,big busses and many cyclists. Some people have no idea how to handle that so every now and then you have to be ready for a last minute move.. overall you should be fine. Read moreAvoid this trip. Unbelievably busy, way too many cars and cyclists competing for road space. The end of the journey at the lighthouse was chaos with no parking and nowhere to turn around. Once you have made it there you have to repeat the nightmare as there is only one way in and out. Views are impressive but do not justify the misery of traffic and the stress means you miss most of them.
