Due to the remote location, this top archeological site gets rather few visitors.
You can tell they were given an adequate budget by the authorities, because the facilities are top notch, nice (temporary) exhibitions and of course the well presented remains of the villa itself.
The best mosaics have been moved to the National museum in Madrid, which is disappointing, but understandable at the same time.
The digital video animation of the villa, of high quality, is a bit overdone with the "sweet butterflies" and over the top camera movements.

Read moreFantástico trabajo de conservación y acondicionado de esta villa romana del S.IV, cuya parte urbana (o parte construida) ocupa unos 4.000m2 (alrededor estarían todos los huertos y cultivos, cuya extensión sería enorme). Es bastante accesible, dispone de tienda, sala de actividades, rampas y espacios adaptados. La villa se articula alrededor de un gran jardín con un patio columnado que da acceso a las diferentes habitaciones, buena parte de ellas con fantásticos mosaicos de motivos geométricos. Al sur se observa la zona termal. con los hornos y las conducciones para calentar las estancias y el agua.
Llama la atención un monograma que aparecen buena parte de los mosaicos y que hace referencia al propietario o familia poseedora de la casa.
