A beautiful set of natural pools.
We went on a Tuesday in the mid afternoon during July, which meant that the parking lot was only 1/2 full. It felt busy with that many people, so I would imagine that a weekend day would be very crowded. You cannot book parking ahead, so go at your own risk on the weekend---you might arrive and find that they have no more parking spaces. It is 9 euro to enter. Both cash and credit cards are accepted.
There are basic sinks/toilets where you can change. No showers that we found. No lifeguards. There are also no lockers. We locked valuables we didn't need in the car, and felt very secure with others just left In our bags by our towels as we swam, leaving them unattended. There is a small restaurant with some basic foods---ice creams, beers, soda, pizza etc. It's nothing too exciting, but after swimming in the cold pools, there's something charming about no-frills food. You can, however, pack yourself a great picnic and enjoy next to the pools.
The pools themselves are a collection of 3 or 4 (I can't remember now) large natural water pools with short rock walls built around them. There are small waterfalls in between them. Before and after are streams. The water is fairly clear, crisp and cold, and very refreshing on a hot day. Yes, there are sticks on the bottom of the pools, and leaves, and rocks, and algae grows. But they are natural and this all seems to be expected. There are shallow and deep areas, perfect for kids with different swimming levels, some of whom just want to play in steam water. If your feet are sensitive to underwater rocks and you want to climb around between pools or in the stream, you might want secure water sandals. But there are plenty of places where you don't need them.
There are very large grassy areas with many trees for shade next to the pools. People lay out towels, play music, eat picnics, play soccer and frisbee, etc. It's a very fun and...
Read moreNice place to walk in the wood with a lot of people, however there are some places calm and quiere where you can sit and take snack and relax. Very important is pet friendly and is well connected. Regarding parking there is little so try to arrive early in the morning if not you have to park far (1km). The restaurants in the area are good and the landscape in the road is amazing. For bike riding are many options and nice trails so if you have one 100% make sure you bring it. For kids below 4, I recommend to bring the stroller ( is súper accesible the woods) and the walk is long specially in the summer when the weather...
