A really interesting nature park a short distance outside Rojales. Well worth a visit for walks and some great views from some of the higher points.
Also very interesting for the lakes on the site, purpose built to store storm water and irrigate some parts of the park. Makes for a very lush and green landscape. There are interesting explanatory signs around the site to explain the why and the how of the system, but I couldn't help thinking more could be made and said about the innovative approach to water management in this part of Spain.
In any case, it's still a great place to spend some time to unwind with the scent of pine and lavender in the air and sound of the breeze through the trees...
Read moreNot been to park for a few years now. What was a waste land has been transformed into a well maintained community area with paths, ponds, seating and public BBQ facilities. Went on a Saturday and was amazed by the number of families enjoying cooking and eating together. Park backs onto natural area with good circular trails for hiking and mountain bikes. Take Google maps as I find it disorienting in the outback circling the high ground and it is easy to end up further away than you planned.
