Had great stay at this place. We had package with accomodation, wine tasting, tapas and paella.
Room: The room is big with nice beds and air conditioning. Hand soap, towels, water bottles, kettle with coffee/tea and shower gel available. No decent breakfast is served (maybe spanish way, but you may be disappointed if you are up for a decent, filling breakfast). A smaller pool available, which did not look super clean.
Place: Super cozy place. The sorrounding nature is calm and sunsets are amazing.
Service: Maybe not amazing in english, but good enough for communication. Very cute older couple running this place. Very friendly. Possible to buy their wine for affordable place at spot.
Wine tasting: 4 kinds of wine. It is not really like traditional wine tasting. It is more like wine tour (where you get to see the production and vineyard) and then you get to try what they produce. Not much description of each wine.
Food: Good tasting food that tastes homemade. A lot is served at once. For us, the food was served at 3pm. The tapas and the paella was served at same time, different from my expectation where I thought that the paella would be served as dinner. Make sure you bring some evening snack to this place as there are no places nearby to buy such thing. As response to this review, the owner mentioned that the food is served at contracted time. It was not fully clear at the booking that tapas and paella would be served same time. It was not mentioned either if it was possible to eat at other...
Read moreWe visited this bodegas after a morning's horse riding to see if they could fit us in for an afternoon tour. 'La mama', Isabel, greeted us with a big smile and arranged our visit for two hours later. We were shown around the vineyard by her husband Miguel, who is also very friendly and clearly passionate about his wines. This was followed by a delicious feast of homemade tapas and wine tasting. Everything we ate was fresh and organic - the vegetables, including huge sweet tomatoes, came from their garden and the eggs for the tortilla from their own hens. As a vegetarian, I was very impressed with everything and the effort Isabel made to ensure I ate as well as everyone else at the table. We enjoyed the experience so much so that we booked in for dinner the following evening. Another great experience with delicious paella and various tapas. We bought some of their wine and homemade olive oil in their shop - it was just a shame we didn't have more luggage allowance to bring home more. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and I hope to visit again some...
Read moreWe went to this excellent vineyard, which we found on google. Being just on the outskirts of the beautiful town of Alora, we went into the small little hall and were greeted by the owner. While he was in fact busy with preparing for a group of 20 guests, we were warmly guided to the bar, where he served a couple of really tasty wines. First a dry but tasteful white wine, then a red wine, with a delicious taste and aroma and lastly a sweet Penon wine. While our visit was short, the owner was pretty talkative, even while his english wasn't the best. Definitely worth a visit for any tourists, though I would recommend trying to...
