Finca Descalzos Viejos — Attraction in Ronda

What a pleasant surprise! I didn’t know what to expect as Finca Descalzos Viejo is an old monastery converted into a winery 25 years ago and the wines of Ronda are up and coming.

Our guide, Merilin was welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about their wines. The winery itself is small, producing about 35,000 bottles a year.

Delightful history and amazing attention to detail with beautiful preservation of the past murals in the vast cellaring hall. Wish we had more time. Superb,fascinating winery tour for my professional client and tasting session thanks to the kindness, generosity and professionalism of Flavio and Paco. The finca is steeped in roman,moorish and medieval history with amazing views of Ronda gorge and of their own vineyards.
