💡A Lighthouse LIKE NO OTHER.

In the picture, a photograph of the Punta de Hidalgo lighthouse, built in 1994 by Ramiro Borlado and located in northeast Tenerife, Spain. The reinforced concrete structure is 50 meters high and the light it emits is visible from a distance of 16 nautical miles (about 30 kilometers).

Due to its unique design, it has become an ideal tourist attraction for enthusiasts of architecture and the Art Decò movement.

The photograph, taken by Ana Skobe, has been chosen as the winner in the 'Architecture' category at the Sony World Photography awards 2024

A stunning modern lighthouse made of what looks like upright concrete blocks painted white. It does look impressive on the beautiful rugged coast. The walk way their along rocky coastal path besides the banana plantations and with the mountains in the distance makes it extra worth the visit. Make sure you are wearing sensible footwear. Their is an information board telling you all about the lighthouse. Their is plenty of birds and crabs to see on the coastal rocks...

An amazing spot at Punta del Hidalgo with incredible views and rich history! The informative board explains the area’s significance for seafarers and highlights the marine life, including whales and dolphins, which you might spot nearby. There’s also an impressive 50-meter lighthouse that adds to the charm of this location. A must-visit for nature lovers and anyone exploring the coast. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy the natural beauty and learn...

Very interesting take on a design that has not changed over hundreds of year. The sign say it was built in 1992, but given the design and condition I would have believed 1929. It's in need of a little TLC. The road to it, and parking area, is just compacted earth and rocks (it's a bit bumpy)
