Bodegas Máximo Abete — Attraction in San Martín de Unx

We had an amazing time at Bodegas Máximo Abete. We booked on the 'TipiKata' experience, which was a short tour of the Bodega and an explanation of the history, followed by a tasting of two of the wines and some pintxos. Raquel, our host, was fantastic, explaining the history of the Bodega, and the process of making the wine. The tour was in Spanish and Raquel took the time to make sure we understood what she was saying at all points (We are English speakers with some basic Spanish). We sat outside in a lovely garden area while Raquel explained the origins of two of the Bodega's wines and then left us to our tasting and some very tasty local snacks. El sábado 20 de julio realizamos una visita guiada con cata y maridaje en la bodega Máximo Abete en San Martin de Unx y fue una experiencia extraordinaria y totalmente recomendable. Tanto Yoanna (con quien concertamos la actividad y que adaptó las opciones de visita a nuestras preferencias y horario) como Rakel (es la persona encargada de las visitas y es una profesional maravillosa) fueron encantadoras y flexibles en todo momento tanto con el horario como con el diseño de la experiencia. Rakel nos contó muchísimos detalles muy interesantes de la bodega y su historia, de la cultura vinícola y características de la zona y de las peculiaridades de cada uno de los vinos y su historia. El maridaje consistió en distintos productos de la zona, todos exquisitos. Rakel consiguió transmitirnos de forma extraordinaria su pasión por los vinos y la historia de su bodega, así como por la cultura vinícola de la zona.
