We visited mainly for bird watching but also to appreciate the beauty of the landscape. It's a large area and we only had 3 hours, but we manage to see a lot. You do need a car or a bike really. There are 3 lakes close together on the south coast with several hides, so we headed there, and visited about 4 hides, that was enough for us. Observatori de la Tancada was best for Flamingos (1000+), and Reserva Natural Riet Vell for Glossy Ibis (100+). The highest concentration of other birds, including harriers, seemed to be in the rice fields and agricultural land, where you can usually just pull in at the side of the road. Also enjoyed the enormous beach at the end of the lake road, Platja del trabucador. Plenty of maps around the reserve and bird id charts, we printed ours off the website before arrival so we could plan our day. Sitio ideal para los amantes de la naturaleza, las caminatas, la fotografía, las aves y la buena comida con el elemento estrella de la zona: el arroz. Si eres de los que disfrutan de los parajes bellos, los espacios de conservación, subir a Torres de observación y mirar atardeceres espectaculares esta zona te encantará. Las playas de los alrededores son tranquilas, las aguas con poca profundidad en trechos largos lo que las hacen ideales para bañarse con niños y no faltan los chiringuitos que ofrecen tapeo y bebidas frescas. Las playas ofrecen también zonas donde se permite ingresar con perros. Los campings cercanos algunos no cuidan mucho el mantenimiento pero te ofrecen alternativas como piscinas y toboganes acuáticos para los niños y mesas de Ping pong, canchas de tennis o de fútbol pequeñas. Fuimos a comer al Racó del Riu un arroz con pato y foie y uno con setas y cigalas buenísimos y probé el postre tradicional que no conocía llamado menjar blanc( también hecho con arroz) que viene acompañado de helado de mandarina, a mi me gusta la canela, pero se pasan un poco, pídelo con menos y si te gusta el mango, pide la crema de mango con helado de coco. Cuando comienza a bajar el calor y la luz recuerda siempre utilizar repelente de moscos porque los hay en cantidad. Y disfruta de los paisajes desde el puente lè Lo Passador. Puedes pasear por la punta del Fangar y llegar hasta el faro o visitar el centro de interpretación del arroz que se encuentra en donde fue el antiguo molino de la cooperativa Arrocera de Camarles, fundada en 1955 y que funcionó como tal hasta el 2002, hay visitas guiadas y otras ofertas que incluyen degustación, talleres gastronómicos d paella , etc. En el Ebro puedes abordar barcos turísticos que te llevan hacia arriba o bien hacia el mar desde donde ves la Isla de Buda y lagunas dedicadas a la...
