Did this with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The tour itself is fairly simple, it's a video in a nice presentation room, with a great history of chocolate making, an overview of the classic chocolate making process and antique chocolate making equipment on one side of the room, and then youre shown more modern equipment and processes. Then, there was an interactive hands on part which involved tasting different types of chocolate as well as examining (and tasting) chocolate from various parts of the production process. During the tour and session, you'll eat or try several small samples that are different, tasty, but also relevant to the discussion and explanation.
Then you go to the shop, which was basically an enormous selection of different types of very high quality chocolate and was laid out with a surprising variety of free samples. But Irene who was at the reception warmly welcomed us and went the extra mile by giving us privately(!!!) the story of the Simón Coll family and the way of the Chocolatery to the top! From chocolate bean to chocolate bar! She even gave us a private chocolate tasting! What a personality Irene have! She loves her job and the company! Well informed with big smiles and a human warmth. Despite this the very few staff who could converse in weak English took great efforts to point excitedly to us of the only english tour at 3PM. 5Euros per person, with complimentary chocolate tasting at the end of the tour.
