We booked the wine tasting tour with a 5 course menu with friends to celebrate a birthday.

When we arrived we had to wait over half an hour in the sun outside the building to wait for everyone to arrive. The entrance of the building, where you're left to wait, has containers and building material that should be placed somewhere else so as to not destroy the atmosphere of the place. No drink or water or any kind of tapas (even olives) was offered during this time, which I found a little neglectant. This first impression unfortunately set the tone for how the rest of the day was going to be.

The wine was excellent and maybe the only good thing about this place. Although, one of the reps, Rosa, clearly enjoys what she does and was friendly throughout. After the tour of the winery, we were sat down for the wine tasting and watched YouTube videos of the bodega. Another waitress did not smile once at us during those 6 hours and almost refused to bring a glass for the table water (forcing us to drink the water and wine from the same glass).

We arrived at 12 pm and stayed until 6 pm. During these 6 hours we were mostly waiting for food to come or drinks to be served. It took ages to serve anything actually. We were just sitting there and felt forgotten. Noone asked if we want to refill our drinks or if everything is ok. We did not feel very welcome to be honest.

In terms of the menu, 4 courses were small, cold and not very tasty bites (in my opinion). The 5th course came at 5 pm, by that time we were starving since we drank so much wine. It was pork fillet with curry sauce which I did not like at all.

All in all, the service was not good and they did not make us feel very welcome. When leaving, I made eye contact with the female owner and she didn't smile either or acknowledge me. I'd expect something like "thank you for visiting us today" or "how was your experience with us?" as a minimum.

The food was unsatisfying for the high prices and we walked home feeling hungry and tired from all the waiting.

It's a shame as we were really looking forward to visit this place. People are paying a lot of money and dedicate a whole day to visit this Bodega, and to have a special experience! To be treated this way is not very professional or kind, there seems to be an issue with their attitude.

We would have loved to purchase a few bottles of this nice wine, but after this experience we did not feel...

A few hopefully comments to improve the experience. Never show up early. There is no space to wait for the tour. You will be advised to stay outside the toilettets or at the parking. No way to get a drink while enjoying the views while doing so. The ”tour of the winery” is, and I am not kidding exactly three stops outside the front of the building on a maximum 25 meters walk. No production tour neither tour of the fields. Not even a view over the fields. The wine tasting was extremely stressed creacented with the girl holding the 4 glasses of wine testing telling after the last glass had been poured,”right, so please hurry up emptying the glass as we will start cleaining the tables in two (!) minutes. And they did and we had to hold tight to the glasses and even the water bottle as it was about to be taken off the table 2,5 minutes after the glass was poured. We were then rushed out on the small terrace where they amidst the people waiting re arranged the tables. I can not blame them that the wine, in my view did not taste me at all. This is a matter of personal taste of our little group. The lunch food was absolutly fantastic. This is one of the stars. As the wines tasted were not to our liking we did not take the wine package and ordered beer and water instead. But when the main dish came in we needed a glass of wine and to our surprise we got a perfectly fantastic wine served. Strangely enough not one of the once offered at the testing. If we had tasted this at the testing we would certainly had dared to take the wine package with the otherwise again very delicious food. A remark that made me extremely upset is that we as a non smoker group was places at the terrace. And the smokers were seated indoors with view. When going to smoke the staff told them to go out to smoke just behind our heads. So unproffessionally handled. I am not sure if all the good comments has let them to relax and not thinking as the customers. I am sorry but for the above reasons I would not reccomend a visit with less you call them and ask them to keep attention to the above. Again the taste of wine is different and I am sure you will find others just love the...

Fantastic day out at Bodegas Bentomiz! Whilst visiting Competa or nearby places, I would highly recommend the vineyard and lunch. As a group of 9 people visiting Competa, we were treated to some lovely local wines and the food was exceptional. We had the 5 course meal which felt perfect for the afternoon. The wine throughout was very nice. The service was exceptional. Rose was amazing with communication before the day and was happy to adjust our numbers as more people wanted to join our tour. Our cab also cancelled on us for the return journey, and Rose stepped in to arrange transport which meant we could sit back and enjoy our day. The service staff were lovely throughout the day. We had great conversations and learned a lot about the vineyard. They personalised the service and we had a lot of fun thanks to their hospitality. Finally the food was amazing!! Wonderful tasting and well presented. This place is a must! Thank you for hosting us.

The visit starts with a short explanation about the history of the vineyard and a bit of explanation regarding the vines and wine making process (approximately 20 minutes all together). Afterwards there is a tasting of 4 wines (2 whites and 2 reds; regular and dessert wine for each the white and red). I highly recommend the tasting plater of charcuteries and cheeses which is optional. All the wines (including the dessert wines) were light and refreshing due to the cold shock treatment used during the wine making process (further details) are given during the tour. The view from the vineyard is unbelievable since it's located high in the mountains. The staff is super friendly and they fully speak English. There is also the possibility to stay after the wine tasting for an optional gourmet lunch. Note that the wine tasting tour only happens once per day starting at 1230. The overall experience is totally worth the detour to get there!

After having a property in Cómpeta for 5 years, my wife and I finally found our Way to this pearl🥂👌the webpage for ordering worked perfectly, so we ordered a guided tour, Wine-tasting and 5-course lunch/dinner afterwards. We actually walked over the mountainridge from Cómpeta - 1h25 min up and down. By car it could be done in 20 minutes. The guided tour explained the philosophy behind Clara and André’s life project and the 80-100 year old Wine stocks. After tasting 5 different very tast wines -seco y dulce - we ended This beautiful Day with 5 very delicate and delicious servings accompanied by Bentomiz’ wine menu. All in all an absolute “must try”, if You are in Cómpeta or Sayalonga region. By the Way : The building looks amazing covered with Indian stone tiles in different natural colors, so from a distance, the building just blends in the surrounding mountains.
