Bodega AVA Vi — Attraction in Sencelles

AVA Vi was the highlight of a wonderful day spent cycling leisurely amongst the vineyards south of Benissalem. With no set itinerary, we emailed a few of the smaller bodegas to see if we could pop by for a glass or two. AVA Vi was one of the few to respond so, on the day, we called to give them fair warning then headed over.

We got there to find Alexandra (the owner) and Claudia (their intern winemaker – that's her in the middle of the photo) sitting outside a charming little building in the midst of the vines. Claudia got us some cheese and biscuits and guided us through a selection of their delicious wines, while we sat under an olive tree with a clear view all the way to the mountains. Stunning!

Seriously, if you get the chance, give them a shout. I'm sure they'd be happy to sell you a glass or two if you just turn up, but it's a small operation so there might not be...

We had such a wonderful experience at this winery in Mallorca! Even though we didn’t have a booking, they welcomed us warmly and made us feel right at home. The wines were outstanding — organic, carefully crafted, and made from unique grape varieties that only grow on the island. It was such a privilege to taste something so authentic and tied to Mallorca’s heritage.

Our host, Claudia, made the experience unforgettable. She has an impressive depth of knowledge in both the art and science of winemaking, and she shared it with such passion that we left not only with more than a case of wine but also with a real appreciation for the craft behind each bottle.

AVA Vi was amazing! We were lucky enough to have a private tasting with the winemaker, Claudia. She told us all about the local wines and tailored the selections to our tastes, paired with delicious local cheese, bread, olive oil, and jam. All the wines were excellent - we liked them so much, we each took a case to check on our flights home (not easy, but the wine was worth it.) And the setting was simply gorgeous. ...
