Whether you are a car lover or just interested in product design, art or history, this antiquity car collection is a must. The main highlight for us was the XIXth century to early XXth century car models: you could see how people and engineers of the time strived to find the "next mechanical carriage" and tried steam engines and diesel engines, a carriage for 1+driver or for an entire family. You could see them experimenting with car materials (wood on top of an iron structure to full iron) and solving pain points, such as: what type of roofs would cover passengers from the rain and how to hold them down (with straps like the gentlemen of the era held their trousers up? Why not?), how to steer (two sticks like horse reigns or a wheel?), how many doors and where?, how to see in the dark -or around what decade do rear-view mirrors appear and why would that be... and so on. Absolutely fascinating! And for those who are car lovers, yes, hundreds of models till the XXth century, from NY police cars and racing cars to luxurious limos. Not so many street cars, yet all of them extraordinarily beautiful.

Ever felt the thrill of stepping into a time machine on wheels? The Salvador Claret Collection in Sils is a treasure trove that’ll leave car enthusiasts and curious travelers speechless! Walking through this vast garage, you’re surrounded by over 200 vehicles, from a 1883 steam-powered Merry Weather to a sleek Mercedes once owned by football legend Paco Gento. The real magic? A replica of the Bonet, Catalonia’s first-ever car from 1897, sits proudly among these automotive relics. It’s not just a museum—it’s a love letter to Spain’s motoring history, housed in a former garage that’s as authentic as the stories behind each car.

Incredible collection of cars from the early days of motoring up to the 1980’s. Good collection of Model T Fords from various years and some very interesting exhibits. Well worth the 6eu entry fee. Restaurant next door, Llotja de Sils , also highly recommended. Menu 15.50 or 22eu. Great food and service.
