I got married here and I would not recommend it to anyone planning a destination wedding.
The venue is beautiful but the staff are awful - they do not let you enjoy your day. I wanted to go early to the venue to set up but they wanted to charge us €100 an hour for setting up our own wedding. I wish I had just paid it because the wedding planner did not set up anything like I had told them to do, even though there was a meeting 2 days before. Everything they did was in the wrong place. Then everything was very rushed, I did not have any special moments with family before the ceremony. The staff just rush you down the aisle like a military operation.
I didn't get to talk to any guests after the ceremony as they were all ushered away. The cocktail hour is very nice but very short. They only give you 1.5 hours, even though this should be the main part of the wedding as it is the only part where you are by the sea. The food at the cocktail hour is very good but they put out far too much and don't give you enough time to eat it.
Then they rush you to the main meal which was very poor and there were basically no options for vegetarians or vegans. Even though they had a vegetarian menu for the food tasting and they told us they could 'adapt dishes' all they gave us on the day was a plate of rice, nothing special at all. If you got married here I would see if you could just have a 4 hour cocktail hour and no sit down meal.
Everything special or customised we asked for they said no to. They have one wedding that they do 5 tines a week and they do not want to deviate from this. They cause a lot of stress before hand making you fill in loads of forms for seating plans etc, where as if they just let you have 10 minutes to do it yourself it would be done.
They also lost our neon sign and a floodlight that we had taken as decoration, they didn't put it up for the wedding, and claimed they could not find it during the 2 days we were there after the wedding. They 'found' it once we had left spain, so we asked if they could post it but they never replied.
They have a lot of good reviews so I assume this is how the Spanish like their weddings but if you are planning to come here from the UK I think you will regret it, as there is just no option to have the relaxed kind of wedding we generally prefer.
They simply do not care what the bride and groom want, or whether they enjoy themsleves, and all they care about from the beginning of the day is getting you out of there on time so they can go home.
I would also want you that the 'catalogue of extras' is only sent out the December before your wedding and you'll find lots of things they talked about as if they were included at the first meeting will have a very high price tag.
(Aside from this the ceremony was lovely and the parish priest is amazing, a very cool, funny guy, but the ceremony is organised separately...
Read moreMy wife and I had our wedding at Castell de Tamarit in Summer 2025. Overall, the staff at the venue and the events company were communicative and helpful, and we had a wonderful wedding. There were many great things about working with Castell de Tamarit and AG Planning (the events company) and also several issues that we encountered in the time we were planning the wedding, which at times were stressful and frustrating:
The venue truly is beautiful. It has incredible views over the ocean and ample facilities for the wedding paty to get ready. The areas for the ceremony, banquet and dancing are great. The food was amazing - during the wedding and for weeks after our guests told us how great the food was. We wanted our guests to be able to have a choice for their main courses for the wedding banquet. This was not standard for the venue, but they were willing to make this change to accommodate us, which we really appreciated. During the wedding the staff were extremely attentive; making sure everyone had food and drinks, and they paid special attention to people with allergies or special dietary needs. We had an issue with the lighting during the banquet. We initially wanted the trees wrapped with lights, which the venue told us would cost extra. In the end we decided to save the money and not pay for this service, but when we arrived they were wrapped anyway, leading us to believe that this was an opportunistic charge with no real cost to the venue. We had an issue with the initial DJ who was assigned to us. He did not respond to our messages and refused to meet with us. However, when we complained, the venue helped us get a second DJ, who was extremely attentive and incredible on the day. During the day of the wedding the staff arrived late to the venue, and prevented vendors from entering the property even though we paid for early access, which cut into the planned time for the bride to get ready and was stressful. The getting ready suite on the bride side is incredibly hot in the summer, and the AC did not work. The castle was unable to provide a fan. During the wedding itself, one of our vendors (a photobooth) did not show up. The venue and our planners completely missed it, and we only realized after the fact. This was very sad for us, as we missed out on all these photos. The venue was very apologetic and there was no issue with refunding the money...
Read moreIf you are looking for the wedding venue of your dreams, you've found it! Castell de Tamarit and AG Planning Group (the castle's event coordinators) were absolutely amazing to work with. They were responsive throughout the entire planning process and willing to help us with whatever we needed, such as having things shipped to their main office and bringing them to the venue for us.
There were three things that stood out to us and our guests. (1) Detail - They had an incredible attention to detailed. The venue was absolutely immaculate and beautiful in every respect. It was very clean and the aesthetic of the day was perfection. We couldn't pick out a single thing we'd change about the venue and the coordination of the day! (2) Food - One of the things we were worried about was food. They have a set vendor and menu for catering so we were concerned the food may not be good or what we were looking for. To our delight, this turned out to be one of the absolute best meals of our lives. All of the food and drink were delicious and beautiful. We didn't stop eating for about 3 hours, and there wasn't a compliant in the building! (2) Atmosphere - They had an ability to make the day feel magical and "crescendo" as it progressed. For example, when our guests entered the venue, they walked through an empty courtyard on the way to the ceremony area. After the ceremony, they went back to the courtyard, but this time it had been completely decorated for the reception and was absolutely beautiful - it felt like magic that they had done all of that during the ceremony without anyone noticing. As the night progressed, it felt like the energy just kept going up and up as they brought our wedding cake with sparklers and during our first dance there were cold fire.
In conclusion, you won't find a better place to get married or a better team to coordinate your day! 10/10...
