Desde la localidad Puente de la Sierra parte esta ascensión de casi 20km. Se trata de una subida muy bonita y tranquila (el tráfico es testimonial), que podemos considerar de primera categoría por la cantidad de metros a ascender (900) hasta la coronación de este puerto, en el área de Las Coberteras, a los pies de La Pandera.
