We had the pleasure of spending a delightful day with Eva touring the Albufera. It is a wonderful place unlike any other. Eva is fluent in English, and having grown up watching the rice harvest, fishing with her father, and enjoying the special flavors that define the famous paella Valenciana is a spectacular guide. PARQUE NATURAL DE LA ALBUFERA

El Parc Natural de l’Albufera constituye uno de los humedales costeros más representativo y valioso de la Comunidad Valenciana y de la cuenca mediterránea. Con una superficie de 21.120 hectáreas, se encuentra situado a tan solo 10 Km de Valencia. Su proximidad y facilidad de acceso lo convierten en una perfecta excusa para abandonar la ciudad y practicar la observación de la naturaleza. Durante todo el año, la gran biodiversidad de este espacio natural protegido permite observar una importante variedad de fauna y flora.

Engloba los municipios de Valencia, Alfafar, Sedaví, Massanassa, Catarroja, Albal, Beniparrell, Silla, Sollana, Sueca, Cullera, Albalat de la Ribera y Algemesí.

L’Albufera fue declarada Parc Natural en 1986, y desde 1989 está reconocida como «Humedal de importancia Internacional», figura derivada de la «Convención Relativa a los Humedales de Importancia Internacional, especialmente como Hábitat de Aves Acuáticas», celebrada en Ramsar (Irán) el 2 de febrero de 1971.

Además es parte integrante de la Red Natura 2000 – al haber sido declarada como «Zona de especial protección de las Aves» (ZEPA) en 1990 y seleccionado como «Lugar de Importancia Comunitaria» (LIC) desde 2001. The experience is esclusive and unique since there aren’t many tourists and you can get you own private moment surrounded buy the nature of the lake . The staff was very kind and listened to all our necessities, they even helped us with the transfers. The food is very good especially the typical cake they served us and the man leading the boat wasn’t intrusive and made us feel very comfortable. I recommend the experience since is unique...
