Ayer me lancé a la aventura por uno de los senderos más espectaculares de La Gomera: desde Arure hasta Valle Gran Rey atravesando la meseta de La Mérica. Fueron más de 8 kilómetros de paisajes cambiantes, desde lo alto del risco con sus vistas infinitas, hasta el descenso serpenteante que parece no acabar, directo al corazón del valle. El silencio del camino, el viento entre los barrancos y esa sensación de estar caminando por un lugar sagrado, donde el tiempo pasa más lento... Cada paso era un reto, una recompensa y una postal. Desnivel de vértigo, calor, polvo y piedras... pero también paz, adrenalina y libertad. Y al final, Valle Gran Rey, bañado por el sol y el Atlántico, me recibió como un premio. Si buscas aventura real en La Gomera, La Mérica no te defrauda.

Just off the GR132, it's worth the short detour to stand on the summit and look down on the plateau and surrounding views - weather permitting!

Path between Arure and Valle Grand Rey. Not an easy one. Not long, somewhat over 6km, but takes time. Worth the trouble anyway.

Heftiger Aufstieg und auf dem Hochplateau ein Traum an Landschaft und Fernsicht. Niedliche Eindrücke von Ziegen und rustikale Brotzeit. Wichtig: Wasser, Wasser und nochmal Wasser dabeihaben. Wir begegnen beim Abstieg auf halber Höhe einem Pärchen in Flip Flops und und ohne irgendwelche Ausrüstung, die sich noch um 17:00 im Aufstieg befinden...haben denen noch etwa 2 Liter Wasser geschenkt, weil für uns die Bar und die Bier-Belohnung in Sichtweite war... was...
