Bambarakiri Ella Bambarakiri Ella is in Rattota in Matale District in the Central Province in Sri Lanka. To access the water fall you have to take the road leading to Hettipola from Matale via Rattota(B274)—The initial portion of the road from Matale to Rattota is in good condition but the next portion to Hettipola is in disrepair as it is full of potholes and the drains made by the rain water and it is a very narrow winding road with dangerous hairpin bends—travelling about 6Km from Rattota, you can see the name board on the right at a hairpin bend to left and you can hear the roaring sound of the flowing water of the fall. You have to park the vehicle by a side of the road—no parking facilities available—it’s about 300m-walk to get to the fall. This is a three-stage small waterfall with impressive look. The upmost waterfall tumbles down onto a basin-like pool of water on a flat rock, flows over it and creates the middle three-column waterfall. It is a bit wider than the upper one and it cascades onto a large deep pool of water and flows over a huge smooth rock creating the lower waterfall. Although this is a small waterfall, it is not short of natural scenic beauty. There is no doubt anyone can be overwhelmed by its mind-blowing beauty and majestic look, but unfortunately, suspension bridge over the lower waterfall and the concrete structures by the waterfall have spoiled the natural glamour of it—the excessive human intervention in Mother Nature not only mar the natural beauty of her but also harm the ecological balance. Some tea kiosk are available there in spite of the lack of parking facilities. It’s worth visiting this attractive waterfall, but don’t forget to only enjoy the natural beauty of Mother Nature without harming her. Please let her be as she is.

🌊 Bambarakiri Falls is a hidden paradise of Sri Lankan beauty gifted by nature. Located in Rattota, near Matale, this small but beautiful waterfall is a must-visit if you're traveling to Matale. Just take the Matale - Ilukumbura road and you'll find Bambarakiri Falls about 1 km from Ratota town. The water is crystal clear, and the height of the falls is around 3 meters.

🌿 To reach the waterfall, you'll need to walk past the charming Weerakoon Village, an ancient colonial-era village. The short walk is peaceful and surrounded by nature. Along the way, you'll come across a suspended bridge that connects both sides of the river, offering a perfect spot for some amazing photos.

💦 Bambarakiri Falls is an amazing place to take a bath, with super cool water flowing beneath a hanging bridge. It's a picturesque place with an amazing surrounding, featuring a colony of waterfalls and naturally formed pools. The experience is truly unbelievable.

👪 It's a safe place for kids, and there's a parking spot available nearby. You'll also find a shop down the road where you can replenish yourself. However, do note that the rock pool at the base of the waterfall can be dangerous during certain seasons. Locals have reported incidents of sudden vortexes, resulting in unfortunate deaths. Some boards are placed to notify visitors about the dangers.

🚮 Please remember to take back whatever you bring with you. It's important to respect the environment and keep it clean. Let's preserve the beauty of Bambarakiri Falls for generations to come.
