With cascading waterfalls in every clearing, quaint villages hidden amid the mountains, many a terraced rice fields as well as numerous rare and elusive animals, this 234-square-kilometre range displays the best of Sri Lankaās diverse natural beauty. The Knuckles Mountain Range is considered one of the toughest hiking trails in the country and is best attempted by those with prior experience in hiking. That being said, no matter how experienced you are, itās mandatory to have a guide. Besides the areaās vastness and the possibility of getting lost, hikers are only allowed to enter the protected reserve with a qualified guide. Failure to do so will land you in trouble with the authorities. While this hikerās paradise features as many as 34 trails, finding information on most of them can be difficult. Itās always best to ask your hotel or guide for suggestions. If you are a hiker, youāll meet more than seven waterfalls and tremendous experience along by walking through the forest, climbing and passing numerous sceneries. you might expect leeches as its common ( you can wear leech socks). Hiking experience would be so great as you can hike around 10-35miles around the mountains by viewing diversity of the nature and realizing how beautiful is Sri Lanka. Weather seems around 20-25c, and you donāt need be so much worry about sweaters. The rain could be expect of a 40% chance.
