The Hummanaya Blow Hole, also known as the "Dikwella Blow Hole," is a remarkable natural phenomenon located near the coastal town of Dikwella in the southern part of Sri Lanka. It is one of the largest blowholes in the world and is a popular tourist attraction due to its impressive display of nature's power. This natural wonder is formed by a submerged underwater cave connected to the shore. As waves crash into the rocky coastline, water is forced through a hole in the cave roof, creating a powerful jet of water that shoots up into the air. The height of the water column can reach up to 25 meters (82 feet) during the peak of the monsoon season, making it a spectacular sight to behold. Visitors can witness this awe-inspiring display from a safe viewing platform built on the cliffs overlooking the blowhole. The surrounding area is also blessed with stunning coastal scenery, making it a picturesque spot for photography and relaxation. While the Hummanaya Blow Hole is a popular tourist destination, it is essential to exercise caution and follow safety guidelines, especially during rough seas and high tide. Visitors should also be mindful of the natural environment and avoid littering or causing damage to the fragile coastal ecosystem. Overall, the Hummanaya Blow Hole offers a fascinating glimpse into the power of nature and is a must-visit destination for travelers exploring the southern coast of Sri Lanka. Whether you're seeking adventure or simply marveling at the wonders of the natural world, the Hummanaya Blow Hole promises an unforgettable experience

A marvelous creation made by nature on the South Coast. In the south of the Humman, the language is also known as "Karijjamala". The 184 km post on the Matara - Hambantota road belongs to Nakulugamuwa. About 1.5km from the main road to Nakulugamuwa beach turn off the main road. The hum-hum is humorous, as it constantly emits a humming sound of "hum" before spreading under the pressure of the waves. This hummer in our country is reported to be the second largest of the six other humors in the world. It's amazing to see. There is a perception among the villagers that screaming, huffing, or yelling near the hummingbirds will cause the hammer to rise. Hummer is a marvelous creation of nature. Humman is a very rare geographical location located along the coast. This unique place is found when you travel a short distance towards the Kudawella fishing village (on the right side from Matara), about 28 km from Matara and 12 km from Dikwella. There are also parking facilities available for the buses and a short distance walk through the fishing village. Along the route you will find many small shops selling fish products such as fish and fish. It is the only Hummer in Sri Lanka and the second largest in the world. It is a fascinating sight as the seawater rises to the top of the humming hole with a "hoo" sound and the place is constantly crowded with local and foreign tourists.

The Hummanaya Blow Hole in Sri Lanka is a natural marvel that leaves an indelible impression on visitors. As I stood on the viewing platform, the sheer power and beauty of nature unfolded before my eyes. The rhythmic dance of the waves, in sync with the geological wonder, created an awe-inspiring spectacle. The blow hole, with its roaring resonance, unleashed sprays of water that soared to impressive heights, reaching up to 25 meters. The timing of my visit during the southwest monsoon season added an extra dimension to the experience, as the waves seemed to collaborate with the blow hole, intensifying the water spray. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and the occasional burst of the blow hole created a symphony of nature's forces. The accessibility of the site, coupled with well-constructed viewing platforms, allowed me to safely marvel at this natural phenomenon. The coastal landscape surrounding the blow hole added to the allure, creating a serene backdrop for this dynamic display of natural power. Visiting the Hummanaya Blow Hole is not just about witnessing a geological wonder; it's about feeling the pulse of the Earth and recognizing our place in the grand tapestry of the natural world. This site is a must-see for anyone exploring the southern coast of Sri Lanka, offering a glimpse into the raw and untamed beauty that the island nation has to offer.

If you're seeking nature's spectacle along the southern coast of Sri Lanka, Hummanaya Blow Hole is an absolute must-visit. Located near the charming town of Dikwella, this natural wonder never fails to leave visitors in awe. I was captivated from the moment I arrived. The sound of crashing waves against the rugged cliffs hinted at the powerful forces at play. As I approached the blow hole, the anticipation grew, and I wasn't disappointed. With a thunderous roar, a towering column of water shot skyward, reaching astonishing heights. The sight is mesmerizing, but what truly struck me was the raw energy of nature. It's a reminder of the Earth's immense power and beauty. I found myself lost in the rhythm of the waves and the breathtaking spectacle before me. The viewing platform offers a safe vantage point to observe the blow hole in action, and the surrounding coastal scenery is equally stunning. Don't forget your camera – you'll want to capture this moment to share with friends and family. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a photographer, or simply someone in search of adventure, Hummanaya Blow Hole promises an unforgettable experience. It's a true gem along Sri Lanka's coastline, and I can't recommend it enough. Make sure to include it in your itinerary – you won't regret it!

A natural wonder, the Hummanaya Blow Hole shoots a jet of sea water between rocks, occasionally rising to heights of over 25 meters. However, it is not always happening all year. (You can clearly see this in the rough season of the sea.) This shooting is absolutely eye-catching. Prior to the seawater shooting, you hear a sound that is like whispering. I think the name of the place (Hummanaya) has a link to this sound. (The sound is like "Hmmm.") The surroundings of the place are covered with many trees, so the place is cool. Opening time: 0800 hrs. and closing time: 1900 hrs. With a vehicle, you can go up to 300 meters. However, for the rest of the journey, you have to walk. There are ample paid parking facilities available. parking charge is LKR 100/-. It may differ depending on the season. But some park owners force you to park your vehicle at their places, which is not pleasant. Ticket price: LKR 50/- per local adult and LKR 500/- for foreigners (as I remember). This place is under the control of the Tangalle local council (Pradeshiya Sabha). The place is well-maintained by them. Some other facilities are also there. On your return, you can taste delicious fried fish. Also, you can buy dry fish and Maldives fish (umbalakada) at a low price. Worth visiting this place.

The Hummanaya Blow Hole, situated along Sri Lanka's southern coast, stands as the second largest blow hole globally and the largest within the island itself. Tucked in Kudawella, a short distance past bus line Matara to Tangalle, this natural marvel awaits exploration. Embark on a serene 5-10 minute walk through a charming village adorned with local vendors offering handicrafts, street fare, and refreshing drinks. As you approach the entrance, rugged pathways guide your journey toward this majestic attraction. Here, amidst the crashing waves, the blow hole reveals its splendor, casting sea water upwards of 80 – 100 feet into the sky. Optimal viewing is during high tide when the salty mist envelops spectators. Admission rates are accessible, with local adults charged at 50 LKR and foreign adults at 500 LKR. Ensure the Hummanaya Blow Hole is on your itinerary while venturing through Mirissa—it's an experience not to be missed!
