We discovered this beach today while looking for a place to surf and being put off by how overcrowded hirikitiya beach is. It was exactly what we were looking for. Clean and super chill - not a bazillion people to pretend you don’t see - the beach itself is really long and there were probably 20 people here the whole time we were here which meant we felt so safe and not like we were needing to push through crowd to get a wave. Also so much more relaxed and wildlife friendly than hirikitiya beach. There’s actually fish in the sea here, crabs and loads of clams on the beach! Honestly wish we hadn’t wasted our time at hirikitiya. Plus the shallow goes on for ages so it’s a child-friendly beach. Couple of great restaurants and probs 3 surf schools. Great place to learn to surf for the first time - there was about an hour where we were literally the only people in the sea. Amazing!
