The weather hadn't been that good and we do like to see gardens in different countries, because the fauna is so different from the European plants and shrubs. When we arrived, we were not sure if the place was open, but on further inspection, after a little push, the gate swung open. We were almost immediately surrounded by butterflies flitting between plants and trees. The place is an oasis of peace and tranquility; you are surrounded by a wild variety of trees and shrubs and that is only on the way to the ticket booth. We tried to pay our entry fee, but there was nobody to be found. The orchid pagoda is something out of this world, so many and so many varieties. Read moreThis hotel is like a bungalow which is located inside a small jungle. You can enjoy the fresh air, beauty of nature surrounded by various beautiful butterflies. Moreover, there is an antique gallery filled with attractive old vehicle collections. That will be a suitable location for you to take some photos. The hotel rooms were very clean, very comfortable, and spacious. The staff was especially amazing. They helped us beyond our expectations and made our stay enjoyable. Every staff member we encountered, from the manager to the supportive staff were delightful and eager to help! Thank you so much everyone! We had a wonderful experience at the Ceylon Kingsmen Garden Hotel. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone and especially the people who love to enjoy nature with a...
Read moreI've been here a couple of times. Loved the setup before. Now it looks deserted and I just had lunch here. The fried rice was overpriced and the food was tasteless. (Took 45 mins to get the food) mixed fried rice costs 2200 rupees (had sausages, chicken and about 5/6 prawns) No other meat.
Water bottle costed 250 rupees(75 rupees bottle) and the energy drink that's usually 350 rupees costed over 800 rupees.
Overall I dont recommend the food here but the stay here can be a different experience considering the nature and its focus on butterflies.
I hope they improve this because the place itself used to be a gem and I myself used to recommend people to come here for its...
