Diyakawa Water Sports Centre — Attraction in Western Province

We recently had the chance to visit Diyakawa Water Sports Centre, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences during our stay in the area. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with warm hospitality, making us feel very comfortable and excited for the activities ahead.

The centre is very well organized, with a wide range of water sports to choose from, whether you are looking for a thrilling adventure or just a fun family activity. We tried a few different experiences, and each one was professionally managed with proper safety measures in place. The instructors were not only skilled but also very friendly and patient, which made us feel safe even if we were trying something new for the first time.

One of the highlights was the boat ride along the river – the scenery was breathtaking, and the staff explained many interesting details about the surrounding nature and local lifestyle. For those who love adventure, they also offer jet skiing, banana boat rides, tube rides, and more. Everything was well-maintained, and the equipment looked modern and secure.

The pricing was reasonable compared to the quality of service and the memories we created. The staff went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed every minute, and we could clearly see that customer satisfaction is a top priority here.

I was visiting from UK Manchester and my brother-in-law( Subhashana Rathnayake contact +94 77 778 4914) recommended this place. They have a variety of water sports. We did the Madu river ride, snorkelling and jetski ride.

I have 8 year old and he absolutely loved the jet speed ride and snorkelling.

The expertise

I was amazed by the experience and the knowledge they guys were possessed. All the lads were local born and bread and grew up with the culture. It’s was very personal to them. They aren’t just doing a job they created a memorable experience you once get once in your lifetime.

Environment

If you get a good sunny day without rain you will get the best experience. Rough sea can be a daunting experience unless you’re prepared for it. But all this provided by diyakawa team and nothing to worry about. Make sure you tip them generously.

Prices Although my brother in law booked them, I have paid the package price. Don’t talk to them knock off the price as you never do that in Europe or US . This is a pure skilled jobs that they are responsible for your life.

Food We had light bit here but you can have a full lunch and dinner here. Variety of dishes available. Just ask!

They have many activities that one can do individually or with family like the banana boat, tubes, wave boards, surfing, snorkeling, deep sea diving, deep sea fishing and many more.

Go for the 1800cc Jet Ski! They allow you to drive the Jet Ski all over the place for 15 minutes without being accompanied by an instructor. It is a surreal feeling.

I went for the tube ride which was really fun. They make you purposefully fall in the water at the speed of 80 km an hour, it feels like you have been slap so hard that you literally start seeing stars. It's just a 2 minute ride, but completely worth it.

I also did snorkeling. They take you to an island which is about 8 km from the base. We went on a day where the seas were a bit rough so the visibility of marine life was a problem. Also the instructor forgot to record the video on the GoPro.

The staff were really courteous and well trained to do their job very professionally! We met the owner also who was really friendly.
