Bigi Pan — Attraction in Nickerie

Bigi Pan could be amazing! Im only giving three stars and not 1 cause the accomodation on stilts was really nice and Randy the guide was going out of his way to find anything for us to spot wildlife! To my shock we barely saw any birds hence Bigi Pan promotes eco tourism for birding and also designates it as a hunting ground!! Those two dont work together, you cant be taking people to see birds that are free to shoot and killed, promote true ecotourism not this! The birds would fly away the first second they would hear the boat or humans, honestly you could see more birds in a city park than Bigi Pan, they are there but fly away at the very second hence they are horrified of humans! The government really needs to protect this place properly not designate it as a hinting ground along eco tourism cause soon enough they wont have...

Hebben in maart 2016 één nacht daar in een mooi huisje op het meer overnacht. S'avonds vogels spotten... rode en witte Ibisses etc.. kwamen in grote getallen over het meer aanvliegen geweldig schouwspel. Heerlijk gegeten en geslapen. 2e dag Flamingo's spotten prachtige omgeving en duizende Flamingo's .. indrukwekkend.. Was daar met vrouw en dochter, onze gids Venski en kok Edwardo. De man die ons overal heen bracht met de boot was ook de eigenaar van het huisje wist enorm veel en op een humoristiche wijze over de vogels en omgeving te vertellen...genoten!! Het was kort maar prachtig om...
