The moose garden is beautiful. They twll you a lot about moose and if you join the tour, you can pet the moose. I have been here twice. Once for 7 years ago. When they had their giant moose, Nisse (Nils). He was huge. Though unfortunately he died in the early 2017. Because of elderdom and arthrosis. They show you a lot at the start of the tour, what you can make of their poop. They tell you about what you can do with the oils on their fur, also that you can milk moose if they are tame, and that the cheese you can make is really good. The moose they have as I am writing this is a soon 4 week old moose calf (he really liked me. But don't let him suck on your fingers because he is not allowed to do that) and his name is John (mostly because he has a lot of white on his ears and hooves. And he's a king. So they named him after John Snow) John's parents are May and Nisse(Nils) Potter is John's brother or half brother. I think Nils wad Hero's older brother. The names of the moose ranged from youngest to oldest. (Probably not quite accurate. But I'm gonna try my best from memory.) John, Potter, Signe, May and Hero. Then if Nils was alive he'd be the oldest.

We came here because we needed a place to stay and we thought it would be nice with the moose around. Well we didn’t see as much moose as we expected from our accommodation so we had to pay 50€ for the two of us to do a tour the next day. The accommodation was very bad. It’s basically a barrack behind the owners Villa so you really feel poor here. They sell you the sheet for the bed which makes it even more expensive because they don’t want to wash it so you receive a towel and ikea sheet of plastic which u can keep from now on but who would touch his face with an unwashed factory new towel that has a burning smell of chemicals? You then push the pillow with yellow (human liquid) stripes on it into the new sheet and try not to vomit when you look at the blanket. You also don’t want to shower since you have to clean the room by yourself. Otherwise you pay 25€ more. We stayed in beautiful cabins near a lake in Sweden for very less money so yes the tour is cute but not for staying.

Visited this place last summer when we stayed in the area for a few days. There's plenty of parking available and also a shop / Café. There's a guided tour 2-3 times a day. Check the schedule online for the times. Be aware it's closed in winter season. For about 18 bucks you get a very well done guided tour. It starts at the Café where you'll get lots of interesting information about their moose garden and mooses in general (after listening to it I really wanna try some moose cheese once in my life). You really can go up close to the mooses - at least my wife did, because I stayed behind with my dog. Dogs would be allowed, but I wasn't sure how mine would react, since she has never seen a moose in her life. My wife really had a great time and was impressed by these wonderful animals....also impressed by the size of them. It's a really good place and a really professionally made tour. Fun, interesting and informative. Would come back.

As Google Local Guide I carefully review my reviews and change them when companies, hotels, restaurants etc do not meet these ratings longer. Price: Adult: 225 (2020) Children SEK 115 (2020) Moose Garden unfortunately has several shortcomings in the description as well as prices for guide and tour. Moose Garden does not tell for the customer if you can go to the moose just the time you come. This disappoints many. In addition, Emil, the owner, promised one thing for mine nephew that he did not complete, even though Emil had a long time before found out when he was here on summer vacation. I can not give anything good rating about Moose Garden anymore, unfortunately they have let a 12 year old down, refused to call and instead likes to write on messenger to avoid talking on the phone. No, save the money and visit all other places here in Jämtland. Also think about entering adult is tall, for a family it's about quite a lot of money, spend it on the positive things we have here in Jämtland. Robert, Local...
