Gräfsnäs castle ruins — Attraction in Alingsås kommun

The ancient ruin of the castle in Gräfsnäs, Sollebrunn, is located at the end of a small road. Since we visited the place more then ten years ago for the first time, a local group of people have put a lot of effords to make the ruin accesable to the public.

There is sufficient parkingspace close to the area. In close distance to the ruin, there is a swimmingarea and a small restaurant.

If you ar not interested in the ruin itself, you can leave your car at the parkinglot and go for a walk or just sit on one of the benches at the lake and...

Well being English I see the little remaining foundation from an ordinary manor? I think that the Swedish concept of a castle is totally wrong and needs correction and is probably due to their not being many castles here at all. They did have a cute steam train running and the location is great for a short walk. The older timber buildings nearby in the wood are more interesting. They have a cafe there overlooking the lake, yet I had my own picnic with me. Easy parking and not far from Alingsås. Yet the ruined Manor is not...

Fin miljö med bra lekplats för yngre barn (med intilliggande badstrand).

Familjen (två vuxna, två barn, fyra och sex år samt hund) stannade till här på vägen hem ifrån svärföräldrarna. Sambon kollade upp Gräfsnäs Slottsruin som ett alternativ att stanna till och äta medhavd matsäck samtidigt som vi åkte hemåt och hade ingen koll alls på vad som fanns.

När vi parkerat bilen och traskat iväg och hittat en bänk att äta matsäcken vid så kunde vi skymta en lekplats lite längre ner. Lekparken var i fint skick och barnen sprang dit nästan omgående.

Efter att jag och sambon ätit upp så gick jag för att lämna kylboxen i bilen och såg att det fanns små informationsskyltar om saker som fanns i området. Ett bra sätt för att lära barnen om träd och djur.

Väl nere på lekplatsen kunde man skymta en badstrand ned åt höger och upp för en liten backe åt vänster låg det en restaurang. Fortsatte man förbi restaurangen så kom man fram till Gräfsnäs Slottsruin.

Allt runt slottsruinen var välskött och iordning. Miljön överlag var väldigt avslappnande och fin.

Har man vägarna förbi så rekommenderar jag att man tar en pause och tar miljön kring...
