Nice little museum with local fossils and Filip's curiosity cabinet. Very exciting is the fossil hunting at an area 15' away. A fossil rich sand ,has been dug out and moved in a nice part in the forest, with shade for the sun, seating places and all the equipment you need to find the fossils. It is impossible not to find something. Most common finds are : Belmnites, Shark teeths, oysters, turtle fragments and other fossils from the Creteceous period (ca. 80M years ago). Filip is the nicest guy you can imagine, he will explain everything and assisst you all the way informing you about your finds, and having a nice chat with lots of humor and in the end he performs an extra check to see if you missed any fossils. It was just fantastic! We came all the way from Germany and were not disappointed. The communication in English was flawless.

Filip is very knowledgeable and totally nice. The fossil hunting starts in a small exhibition where some of Filip's treasures are displayed. It is all very nicely arranged and very informative. After a short introduction we went to the field station where you search for the fossils. Filip is very well equipped and very helpful. Everyone finds fossils in any case. We found several shark teeth, belemnites, corals, shells and more. Filip is available with advice and assistance and also looks at the finds, so that no fossil is overlooked. In addition, he can give interesting background information to each find.

Es war einfach nur fantastisch! Wir sind extra aus Deutschland angereist und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Kommunikation auf englisch war einwandfrei.

Filip ist sehr versiert und total nett. Das Fossilien-Suchen beginnt in einer kleinen Ausstellung wo einige Schätze von Filip ausgestellt sind. Es ist alles sehr schön gestaltet und sehr informativ aufgearbeitet. Nach kurzer Einführung ging es dann zur Feldstation, wo man die Fossilien sucht. Filip ist sehr gut ausgestattet und sehr hilfsbereit. Jeder findet auf jeden Fall Fossilien. Wir haben mehrere Haifischzähne, Belemniten, Korallen, Muscheln und weiteres gefunden. Filip steht mit Rat und Tat zur Seite und schaut auch mit auf die Funde, damit man ja kein Fossil übersieht. Außerdem kann er zu jedem Fund eine interessante Hintergrundinformation geben.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen und spannenden Nachmittag mit Filip. Los ging es beim Haus der Seedrachen, ein kleines liebevolles Museum. Dank Filip bekam jedes Ausstellungsstück eine Geschichte.

Dann ging es ein paar Minuten mit dem Auto Richtung Norden, und wir durften selber auf Fossilienjagd gehen.

Aus Sicherheitsgründen wurde das Erde-Kiesgemisch aus der "Grube" gebaggert. Wir konnten den eigentlichen Fundort aber auch besichtigen.

Schon bei der ersten Schaufel wurde klar, die 100% Fossiliengarantie von Filip war noch untertrieben.

Neben den leuchtenden Kinderaugen bei jedem Fund, war auch Filip ein echtes Highlight. Jedes Fossil hat er mit einer Begeisterung gewertschätzt und bestimmt. Man spürt das er nach über 30 Jahren noch immer für die Fossilienjagd "brennt". Danke!

Ach ja, neben Donnerkeilen, Muscheln und Haizähnen konnten die kleinen Fossilienjäger auch den Zahn eines Mosasaurias finden.

We had a very nice and exciting afternoon with Filip. We started at the House of the Sea Dragons, a small, lovely museum. Thanks to Filip, every exhibit had a story to tell.

Then we drove a few minutes north and were allowed to go fossil hunting ourselves.

For safety reasons, the earth and gravel mixture was dug out of the "pit". But we were also able to visit the actual site.

It was clear from the first shovel that Filip's 100% fossil guarantee was an understatement.

In addition to the children's shining eyes at every find, Filip was also a real highlight. He appreciated and identified each fossil with enthusiasm. You can feel that after more than 30 years he is still "burning" for fossil hunting. Thank you!
