Dalslands Moose Ranch — Attraction in Dals-Eds kommun

The moose ranch is such a wonderful place and well worth making a detour to visit, or even going to as a short day trip if you're living a couple of hours away. Bring a camera or clear some extra space on your phone, because the beautiful giants are VERY photogenic. Stuff a few paper towels in your bag if you're aiming to be there at feeding time, because a hungry moose is a drooling moose and you will probably be wanting to dry your hands after hand feeding them! (Don't worry, you can wash your hands when you go back inside.)

The small staff are all very friendly and will happily answer all manner of questions and curiosities you may have. I noticed that there are wheelchair ramps and a wheelchair accessible toilet. For those with babies, they have a baby changing table as well.

I have to say, it's certainly not just somewhere to take bored children, as I saw it described somewhere. I'm not sure what that person was expecting. Perhaps they wanted the mooses to perform dismal, joyless circus tricks for their amusement? A small, but important distinction needs to be made here: the mooses are not there to entertain you, you are there to entertain yourself...

Extremely touristy place. We were there in August, and expect to find yourself in front of a fence surrounded by crowds of tourists. As a result, the price is really high for what it is: 185 SEK at the time of writing. The worst part is that you gradually realize how obsessed the owners are with their income: all the barriers around the enclosure hide the moose, and all the windows overlooking the enclosures have been made opaque. Even in the restaurant, where we thought we would be able to eat while watching the moose, we ended up with a view of the parking lot, as the restaurant windows are opaque. The aim is clearly to force you to buy a ticket. Perhaps also to hide the crowds of tourists from you. In any case, it's certainly not for the animals, given the crowds. The Liège waffles are good but small, even by Liège...

NL/ENG/GER/SWE Elanden op armafstand. Zelfs te aaien! Wees op tijd voor het voederen, anders trekken ze weer het bos in. Als je nog Zweden souvenirs mist in je collectie, dan kan je het hier ruimschoots aanvullen in de boerderij. Zelfs elandenvlees in dunne plakjes,... Verder dan kijken, op en neer het hek langslopen en vragen stellen zijn er weinig andere interactieve activiteiten. Dat is jammer, met een uurtje of twee ben je echt wel klaar. Er is horeca, met veel ruimte voor ontwikkeling. Wist je dat... Elanden échte boskoeien zijn? Ze hebben net als runderen ook 4 magen! d;-) ENG Elk at arm's distance. Even to pet! Be on time for feeding, otherwise they will withdraw into the forest again. If you still have tot buy Sweden souvenirs in your collection, you can fill your collection in this farm. Even moosemeat in thin slices, ... Beyond watching, walking up and down the fence and asking questions, there are few other interactive activities. That is a shame, within hour or two you are really ready. There is catering, but with plenty of room for development. Did you know that ... Elk are true forest cows? They have 4 stomachs just like cattle! d ;-) GER Elch in Armweite. Sogar um zu streicheln! Sei pünktlich zum Füttern, sonst ziehen sie sich wieder in den Wald zurück. Wenn Sie in Ihrer Sammlung noch Souvenirs aus Schweden vermissen, können Sie diese auf der Farm anfüllen. Sogar Elchfleisch in dünnen Scheiben, ... Jenseits der Beobachtung, den Zaun auf und ab gehen und Fragen stellen gibt es nur wenige andere interaktive Aktivitäten. Das ist schade, mit ein oder zwei Stunden bist du wirklich fertig. Es gibt Catering, mit viel Raum für Entwicklung. Wusstest du, dass ... Elche echte Waldkühe sind? Sie haben 4 Mägen, genau wie Rinder! d ;-) SWE Älg inom räckhåll. Även för att strejka! Var i tid för utfodring, annars går de tillbaka in i skogen. Om du fortfarande saknar Sveriges souvenirer i din samling kan du rikligt komplettera det här på gården. Till och med älgkött i tunna skivor, ... Om du tittar bortom, går upp och ner för staketet och ställer frågor finns det få andra interaktiva aktiviteter.
