It was great experience visiting this hidden gem of a castle. The castle looks really beautiful as apparent from the pictures. The castle and some surrounding areas are marked as private due to active residence but there’s plenty to explore around with nice view. There’s a cafe as well very close to entrance of the castle area. The car parking is available for free but can be hard to find if it’s very peak hours of season. But i think you can easily find a spot around so no issues. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area and can combine with other attractions in Eskilstuna or other places. Enjoy. Cheers

Was build In 1848, one of Sweden's most beautiful castle, Stora Sundby. Boasting four large towers symbolising the seasons, twelve smaller towers for the months, 52 rooms for the weeks of the year and 365 windows for all the days of the calendar. The preservation of cultural and historical values is an important driving force and a major responsibility that is a natural part of daily life on the farm. In addition to the management of the castle and its buildings, extensive nature and wildlife conservation is also carried out to promote a rich plant and animal life.

Went around August and the castle park is open from 10am to 6pm. You can walk through the park and have coffee or pastries at the nearby cafe, the castle is home to a family..i have visited many castles in Stockholm and interms of architecture and beauty this is the most amazing castle.. To get here you need to first head to Eskilstuna and then take bus number 18 from Kyrkogatan to Alberga then once in Alberga you walk approximately 15 minutes to Stora Sundby Castle.. Definitely worth it!
