I'll be writing more about the trail that starts about 5km from the mines but if you just want to see the mines there is a parking available just 100 away.
We started the trail at the south on the map where you can park just after crossing the railway. From there it's a slight incline up to the trail itself, somewhere between 600-800m long.
The trail the begins with a quite long and quite steep incline up towards the highest peak on the trail, about 330m above sea level. The trail itself is beautiful and easy to walk and follow but the difference in height makes it challenging and it's not that easy to be honest.
After you reach the highest peak you are going downhill through a stunning forest of spruce (fir) trees on a floor of moss. The trail then continues through forests and open landscapes until you reach the mines (Hornbackskullen) and then it's an easier path towards the end of the trail.
All in all we measured the walk to just above 10km.
At the mines there are tables, shelters and what looks like a future café although I'm not sure about that. Here you can sit and eat whatever you have brought.
