Highly disappointing Regarding Return Experience at IKEA Bäckebol.
We are very disappointed with the customer service we received at IKEA Bäckebol regarding a recent mattress return. Earlier this month (June 2025), we purchased two mattresses, but decided to return them as they didn’t fit our requirements. After confirming the return policy by phone on June 23, we brought them to the store, meeting all the stated conditions.
At the store, the staff inspected the mattresses and claimed they had a "bad food smell," despite the fact that we and a friend could not any bad smell. On top of that we bought these two mattresses 3 weeks before and we used IKEA delivery facility to deliver them our new house. One staff member, Harnet, told us " if we want we can sell them sell them online"—a highly inappropriate comment. When we requested a second opinion, she called another colleague while saying us, "It doesn't matter who you talk to, this decision will not change," . Without conducting a proper inspection that new customer service officer named Kai, backed his colleague’s decision and refused to accept our return.
We couldn't find anything in the return policy regarding smell. We left feeling unfairly treated and cannot help but wonder if bias may have played a role in how we were handled—something that should never happen at IKEA.

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the recent experience I had while ordering a PAX wardrobe system from IKEA.
Ikea had arranged for a delivery through a third-party service and specifically requested an afternoon delivery due to my early shifts. Unfortunately, this request was not honored, and I was left waiting for a solution. When I contacted the third-party delivery service, they informed me that the issue lay with IKEA, and when I asked if I could collect the order myself, I was instructed to speak directly with IKEA.
After waiting for 1.5 hours on the phone, with Bring ( delivery) I I reached out to IKEA and explained my situation. I was assured that someone would call me back with further information, but after two follow-up calls with no response, I was informed that my order would not arrive until the following week.
Frustrated by the lack of communication and resolution, I ultimately decided to cancel my order and request a refund. While I understand that customer service representatives may not be at fault, I believe the underlying system needs significant improvement.
Based on my experience, I would advise potential customers to reconsider ordering for home delivery from IKEA, as it appears to be a complicated and unreliable process.

I had my old kitchen since 1992 when I first built my house. It was made by a local carpenter. It wasn't the most attractive one but it held for almost 27 years, true the Formica coating started to peeled off and it needed some renovation. We decided to inquire for a new kitchen. After checking few ideas we decided to buy from IKEA. From the beginning when they install the kitchen I could see that the installers werent so proficient with their work, which very soon proved itself to be accurate and forcing me to fix a few minor mistakes by my self. For example they didnt assemble enough screws which caused the microwave shelf to collapse. There isn't smooth closing at some bottle units drawers. My old marble held my weight several times during the 27 years when I had to reaper some thing above it. The new kitchen marble that IKEA mounted collapsed after one time which I stood on it. of course I had to repair this problem too by adding supporting beam. I do understand that today unfortunately things are not built to last, but after one year to have the feeling that it can brake any time?
