Beautiful location. It was great to watch the Northern Lights here. We stayed at the nearby hostel. We had the most amazing view of lake directly from our bedroom window. Which also allowed us to watch the Northern Lights from bed. It's beautiful space for taking photos or cross country skiing. I recommend you bring your family. And I hope to return in the spring and summer. The train station is very very very close. It's well worth the long travel and train ride to get here. Take a chance and experience something amazing. We brought our children and had a fantastic time. Visit the naturum nearby. Enjoy the wildlife and even the cold. It was negative 30 degrees Celsius when we were there but we still had an amazing time.

Saw the lake from my room in STF and from near the sky station. I wanted to go near, but couldn't because in winter the road is not maintained properly and is quite dangerous. I was traveling alone so this was the only safest option for me. Even from that far, it looked majestic. Would love to see it in summer, if I am able to visit there again.

Beautiful place to visit, if you come in the winter then you can take a trip out on the ice and fish, in the summer it's the most amazing place to sit and have a break or eat lunch!

Турне-Эльв берёт начало из озера Турнетреск в Скандинавских горах в Швеции близ границы с Норвегией и протекает в юго-восточном направлении через Лапландское плоскогорье до Ботнического залива. После принятия крупнейшего притока Муониоэльвен образует границу с Финляндией. Длина реки составляет 565 км (это гидрологическая длина, отсчитываемая от истоков Муониоэльвена). В верхнем течении имеются водопады, пороги и многочисленные озёра. Замерзает с ноября по май. В районе Юносуандо образует вторую по объёму (после Касикьяре в Южной Америке) бифуркацию в мире — более половины воды уходит в протоку Терендёэльвен, впадающую в Каликсэльвен. Рядом с устьем находятся морские порты Торнио (Финляндия) и Хапаранда (Швеция), между которыми перекинут железнодорожный мост.
