👌Tjolöholm Castle, located on the west coast of Sweden, is a magnificent and historic landmark that offers a glimpse into the grandeur of the past. This stunning castle, surrounded by picturesque landscapes and nestled by the sea, provides visitors with a unique and captivating experience.

The castle's architecture is a true marvel. Built in the late 19th century, it is a masterpiece of the Arts and Crafts movement, characterized by its intricate detailing, turrets, and red-brick exterior. The castle's design reflects a harmonious blend of various architectural styles, including Tudor, Gothic, and Renaissance influences. We arrived at 10.50 to be told that the next tour was at 13.00 when we could have ran for the 11.00 tour, unhelpful! So we walked around for an hour until the restaurant was open because the coffeeshop was closed. Upon arrival at the restaurant we were asked had we booked, as they were full. We said no, as we had not planned on being there but that the coffeeshop had been closed, and we had already waited an hour for them to open. So we finally got to sit outside (luckily no rain) and have tepid coffee and a very nice slice of chocolate cake which took about 20 minutes to get after 1 quiet reminder! The tour was very good but from the amount of english speaking people I heard and papers they handed out it might be thoughtful and customer friendly to do 1 english tour a day. I gave 2 stars purely for the tour, the guide and the cake the rest was a shambles of no organisation, customer care or in-house communication! It is however, a very...

Tjolöholm's castle was built rather late in the castle category. It was built by the very healthy family Dickson, when they found themselves being "stuck" in Sweden.

If you have any interest to see an old style building, but with modern conveniences this is, by any means, the place to visit. The castle, still with a very old fashion appearance, has almost still the modernity you can ask for. It has central heat, several bathrooms with hot snd cold water, electric light everywhere. It has wall-to-wall carpeting. There is even a special built vacuum cleaner. That vacuum weight about 1 ton and is located on a horse pulled wagon.

The guestrooms are out of this world and I wouldn't mind staying over for a night or two.

There is also a garden that is worth a visit. All in the same stile ss the castle.

I strongly recommend a visit. The fees are not that expensive and I believe there is even guided...

On a bike packing trip through Sweden along Kattegattleden, we stopped in to admire the mansion (easy to miss on the bike trail with little signage, but easy to find with Google maps of course). The grounds themselves are lovely with placards posted around to provide information about the history. We opted for a self-guided tour of the mansion interior. The host inside who greeted us was friendly and knowledgeable and provided booklets that contained a good amount of information and points of interest for each room. Overall, I found the history mildly interesting, and it was a digestible amount of information that left me feeling satisfied with the stop.

Castle Visit (Not Stay) I am lucky I visited this castle and took a guided tour. The entire premises (Entrance/parking/gardens/Cafes/The Castle itself) are well maintained. The castle is in excellent shape and very elegant. Just imagining what the original residents must have felt to stay here. The guided tour is nice. Gives quick insights into the castle history. There is a nice beach behind the castle. In a summer, families can arrange a one day picnic to this place. Tourists should allocate around 3-4 hours to visit the place in its entireity. Tickets can be purchased on site. There is not much rush.

Great Outdoor place during COVID-19 times - four barbecues with four benches each right at the shore below the castle. Adjustable grills (height, swings over the fire), bring charcoal/wood. Right next to it is a sand beach (swimming in summer), and a wooden playground (ship). Lots of trails for walking, those however are not suitable for prams. There is a main gravel path around the castle which works fine with prams (apart from small stairs) Extraordinary views on sunny days. The castle itself is impressive and has an interesting history (British family built it at the end of the 19th century).
