Nice place to get to know more about #astronomy, specially the evolution of astronomical theories during history. You visit and open area with buildings and remains of buildings. The church shows equipment from that time and audiovisual with different thematic. Recommended also to have a look of the lovely gardens with herbs, fruits and vegetables. The highlight is to visit the recostruction of the observatory, rebuilt underground using the basement remains. They allow 12 persons in each visit because the small size of the room. Visit last there 15 minutes, they close the door and you enjoy after the total darkness voice in off explaining different objects enlighted one by one. Not a good experience if you are claustrofobic. Nice place to get your kids in contact with astronomy and nature. And wonderful location for a whole day to visit the rest...

The museum is a little underwhelming. I have seen and very interesting documentaries about tycho brahe and i was hoping the museum would be similar interesting. The museum is more about his biography and not so much about how he worked or figured all these things out. The museum could explain how you as a normal person could kind of observe the night skies like he did and how to get to the right conclusions. How dangerous it was to have a different opinion then the church, how he was trying to make alchemy, or how that possibly could have went, more about the fighr with the danish king So much...

This more a review of the entire island, wouldn't recommend reading if you don't like misplaced spiders, This is the devil's island I went to visit with my mums friend who was flaking about capitalism and souls and conspiracy theories and she said putin is the good guy and we walked like 6km for 4 hours in the middle of nowhere and i left a flower on a dead bird and we were at a bus stop and a spider landed on my face and the only good thing about the island are the people who are rather kind, and the playground. Also my friends were having a great time back home in...

The museum is now located in the old church where they keep all the tools and materials från that time but they also use the old observatorium site across the road. There are several movies shows in the observatorium during the day so it is better you check it on their site. The ticket can be bought at the info point close to the church and includes both the entrance to the observatorium as well as in the church.

It's nice to see the Observatory and the museum from the 16th century, the scientific instruments he used at that time. One can get a glimpse of Tycho Brahe as a person. He was not only an astronomer but also an alchemist and engineer, not to mention the feudal lord of Ven island. It's nice to see how far we have progressed in our understanding of celestial matters in the last 450 years.

A nice museum in the middle of isle of ven. Tycho Brahe as I found out was known for his comprehensive and unprecedentedly accurate astronomical observation before the invention of telescopes. The museum describes his life and work and has a number of instalments replicating the ones used by Tycho in the 16th century. All information is available in English and Swedish.
