Read moreThis is one of my favorite places now in Stockholm. Found it by chance when searching google maps, and it did prove that this find is simply amazing. The entire museum grounds is filled with many statues, fountains, stupendous vistas of the sea and the city, and as it is only a short ride from Stockholm's city center, for 170 SEK you get the opportunity to see the life of Carl Milles and his wife Olga who built these grounds in 1908 and since then the place has grown to be a gorgeous setting with peaceful and alluring content. There are many statues inside the main house, Anne's House is small but a nice glimpse of the life in the 1950s, and there are from time to time temporary exhibits. The museum shop is large and the postcards are one of the best ones I've seen thus far in Stockholm. Recommended to everyone who visits Stockholm and will definitely...
Read moreMillesgarden is the former home of art collector Carl Milles and his wife. It features a lovely collection of artwork including an outdoor sculpture garden and a rotating gallery inside the collectors previous home. The garden has great views of Stockholm by the water and while small, has plenty to see. The house's exterior was being repaired when I was there, but guests are still able to access the house and explore the collection inside, including a small portion that was not permanent to Millesgarden. While I was there alone, I thought this would be a lovely place to take a date, if they are a fan of different types of art. There is also a restaurant available, though I can't comment on it as I did not eat there, however it looked nice based on what I could see. I quite enjoyed my afternoon there exploring...
