Very rude and unfriendly owner, horrible food.
The park itself was okay. The cashiers and general staff was nice and friendly and the animals were interesting and seemed calm. The park is small, but that's fine for a short visit. Maybe a bit expensive for what it is.
Where things goes wrong - and horribly so - is with the owner and the food. For those reasons, stay away. First the food: a cheesecake that was so horrible, it should not be fed to a dog. It consistent of some short of molten cheese and bread in an unholy alliance of lard. The second was a moose burger so overly salted it burned for hours. The taste was not particularly great either, but not terrible. Those things could have been okay, if not for an agressive and confrontative owner.
Before entering the park, I had asked if it was okay to fill up a jug of water for drinking at the designated tab for washing your hands and drinking water, and the staff said with a smile that it was fully fine. As I approached the foset with my water jug, I was more or less attacked from behind by a very angry owner stating I was not allowed to take drinking water. I explained that the staff had given me permission and that the water was for me, my wife and our 4-month old baby. That seemed to enfuriate her even more as she got very rude and even more agressive, so I just gave up.
When we made a remark about the cheesecake as we returned it (as you would do, if you don't eat something at a restaurant due to quality) she shouted profanities at us from the kitchen. Such a display of anger and aggression in front of a baby and a family speaks volumes about a place. En essence, stay away because...
Read moreDear future visitor (non-visitor hopefully),
if you have too much money and very little time, this is the perfect destination to get rid of your money quickly (100SEK pP). Of the 10 elks who presumably live there, only four are in a living condition, whereas the others are available in the freezer of the souvenir shop. Although other reviews state that you can easily spend 2-3 hours here, these were obviously written by snails. It is, however, true, that you can feed the elks, but this activity takes no longer than 20 minutes. The whole park territory is roughly the size of a football pitch. To add to the species diversity, you can admire two goats and two pigs nearby the entrance. Lastly, the prices in the adjacent gift shop are ridiculously high and unjustified. To put it in a nutshell, this park is what Germans call a „Touri-Falle“ (translates to „tourist trap“).
Best regards and have a nice...

English: 0/5 stars - Disappointing visit to the elk park
We were very disappointed with our visit to the elk park in Sweden. The 1.5-hour drive each way was simply too long for the 20-minute stay, which didn't justify the trip at all. The admission price was also way too high compared to the size of the park.
The enclosures for the elk and other animals were much too small and poorly designed. It was clear that the animals were under stress, as they were constantly pacing along the enclosure walls. The tracks around the perimeter of the enclosures were a clear indication of this.
The only positive aspect was the opportunity to feed the elk with branches and get very close to them. However, this wasn't enough to make the visit worthwhile. The enclosures for the goats and pigs were also very small and poorly maintained.
Overall, we would definitely not recommend visiting this elk park, especially if you have a long drive. There are certainly better ways to spend your time and money. If you want to see animals, you should look for other, better-run parks or zoos that provide more space and better conditions for...
