Museum of Legends in Ljungby — Attraction in Ljungby kommun

We had been looking forward to a visit to Museum of Legends on our trip to Sweden. We were very disappointed to find that it was not open and would not open until after we left Ljungby. As we walked around the garden (a wonderful place on its own) two employees were leaving and we told them of our disappointment. These wonderful ladies arranged for us to have a private tour right then. Jakob then gave us an amazing experience with 3-4 tales as we toured the museum. He also took the time to explain the museum being a UNESCO Heritage site. One of its main goals is to keep alive the folklore and legends of the area. Small museum (and I mean really small) in the middle of Ljungby. The museum consists of different tales in Swedish which you can read yourself (you can however borrow the translation in German/English). I feel like to get the most out of the museum you need to join the guided story telling. We needed a pit stop while driving back to Stockholm from Copenhagen and Ljungby was just in the middle. A wonderful collection of stories coming alive through beautiful craftsmanship and masterful storytelling by the lovely staff!! I absolutely cannot recommend this museum enough. They have material in german, english and swedish to guide you through the exibits, and the stories are unique and super thrilling to read. They also had a small crafts area for kids.
