Very interesting place, not quite what I was expecting. The main attractions were non-stop theatrical performances of a fairytale variety. There was not much else to do, like playgrounds or rides. The park is a bit hard to navigate if you have not been there previously. The tickets were pricey for what was on offer.
The staff was very nice and interacted great with kids. However, the day we were there, hundreds of tiny frogs were hoping in a highly trafficked area, on their way somewhere. The park did nothing to alert visitors to their presence or divert traffic. I watched multiple park employees drive golf carts over the frogs. It was very heartbreaking to see.
The park also has very limited shopping. Everything sold is mass-produced cheap imports, which have been marked up. There was nothing special from the park or local area. I would have actually spent money in the gift shop if there had been anything worth buying, like a t-shirt or a nice Christmas ornament. The dressup items for kids were very...
Read moreOverall Great place for kids to view some shows and interact with the actors before and after the shows.
Shows Pretty short, approx 15 minute. You have to know Swedish to understand the story. Sometimes a bit repetitive when all of them contain some reference to the "Tomte kraft". The acting and singing is good, and the kids found the story intriguing. If your kids are easily scared some of the plays are a bit too much. In a few theaters there are now benches. Often it is possible for the kids to talk and interact with the actors after the play.
Food Brought food since I've read that it was expensive. Took a photo of the fika menu and uploaded it here.
Environment Everything is placed in the forest with is left as untouched as they possibly could while still building a theme park.
Parking There is a big parking lot close to the entrance. Shouldn't be a problem to find a spot and it's free.

Read moreTomteland, or more internationally - Santaworld is a place who changes with the season. Therefore children of ALL ages can be smitten by Santa's magic all year around! I have visited regularly since I was a kid and the improvements are now amazing. The park is quite interactive and the shows are located on mainly two stages. In between shows (and mostly during them as well), kids can socialize with the magical beings of the park.
The only negative part I can think of at the moment is the lack of bathrooms. On a crowded day the queues, to the few ones there are, are quite stressful. So, be sure your kids know, in advance, when they need to visit those facilities or else it can end up in a...
