Zorn collected old houses as a cultural heritage and opened this early open air museum. This kind of keeping old houses for the future war typical in scandinavia very early. The Museum shows typical wooden rural architecture but a bit different from the south swedish red and white. If you take a drive around lake Siljan you will see very similar houses and huts at the west shores.
