I fell from the horse and broke my shoulder when I was riding an Islandic horse. Our chill instructor let us galloping several times, while everyone in my group were beginners. And during one of the galloping, the horse ran into the woods... and then there was ambulance and my destroyed summer. After 1,5 years since I still feel the consiquences and I'm still in touch with their insurance company. However, never heard anyting ever since from Kyrkokvarn company. It might have been just an unlucky accident, but I'm sure it wouldn't have happened if the instructor had been more prefessional and had not let gallop to people, who were sitting on the horse never or 1, 2 times before. 20 minutes introduction on how to jump on a horse and some explanations on the way are certaintly not enough. Canoeing on Tidan heading North is a great way to mess around with boats in a picturesque part of Sweden. Several picnic places on the banks with tables and barbecue places. Some places where the canoes can be carried down to the next level, then back up later on the way back. Good to keep the life jackets on even though they may seem unnecessary as the canoes can turn over and the extra buoyancy can help to get the canoe turned upright again, and makes it easier if you have to swim with it to the shore with it. South going in Stråkan is a little more challenging with wide expanses of water, but there are islands and beaches to visit. More wind and waves to...

Wir haben über den Anbieter Scandtrack eine Kanureise gebucht, welche hier im Camp gestartet ist. Das Team vor Ort war sehr freundlich, jedoch nicht immer erreichbar. Bei unserer Ankunft mussten wir uns selber zurecht finden, da die Rezeption nur bis 17:00 Uhr besetzt ist. Wir waren auf dem "Nature Camping" Platz, welcher ohne Strom 13 Euro pro Übernachtung kostet. Vor Ort gibt es überdachte Sitzgelegenheiten, sowie eine Grillhütte. 100 Meter Fußweg befindet sich eine Duschhütte, welche mit Flusswasser gespeist wird. Daneben stehen Trockentoiletten. Insgesamt ist der Platz eher "einfach" gehalten. Für eine Übernachtung vollkommen ausreichend.

Am Tag der Abreise mit dem Kanu erhielten wir eine sehr gute Erklärung der Wasserkarte und des Materials. Ebenso erhielten wir eine Telefonnummer, welche wir im Notfall und einen Tag vor Abholung anrufen sollen. An der Rezeption lernten wir auch den Chef vom Verleih kennen, welcher sogar Deutsch konnte. Am Tag der Abholung nach der Kanureise klappte auch alles einwandfrei.

Zum Fluss Tidan bin ich jedoch nicht so zufrieden. Durch wenig Niederschläge (Juni 2025) sind die Pegelstände in vielen Punkten des Tidans sehr niedrig. Man muss öfters aussteigen und das Kanu durch das Wasser ziehen. Ebenso nervig war das Umtragen der Kanus. Die Umtragepunkte waren in den meisten Fällen sehr schwer zu erkennen, da diese oft zugewuchert waren und für das Umtragen viel zu eng sind. Aber naja... Es ist halt eben ein...
