Absolutely amazing experience in every single way!! We went as a family of 2 adults and 2 children (aged 12 and 7) with our friends also 2 adults. So the adults had 1 sleigh per couple and the children went with Melina in a larger sled. It was obvious that the dogs are well looked after and cared for, they also love to run.
We did the 10km trail, the instruction was clear and precise. Melina is definitely an expert in what she does. The area we sled through was beautiful and the trail carefully laid. We stopped at the mid way point and swopped driver, Melina supported the children so they got to stand on the back on the sled, which they loved.
After we had homemade salmon soup, hotdogs and cake. The value within this experience is worth more than money can buy. I completely recommend Pajala Huskies.
Thank you Melina for creating a...
Read moreIf you like dogs and would like to try your hand as a musher, don't shy the way to Melina and her huskies! It's less than 1 hour by car from Äkäslompolo! Instead of mass tourism, you will find a nice little family business. A bit more than 30 huskies are lovingly cared in their spacious kennels. There are tours of various lengths, which are not too difficult and lead through beautiful forests, frozen moors and plains. You will find only small groups. A maximum of 4 sledges are running at the same time, pulled by 3-4 dogs. We had booked the largest tour and spent around 90 minutes on a dog sled in the snow-covered Thornevalley area. After the tour, we had a delicious lunch, local drinks and coffee. We highly recommend Pajala-Huskies! In total, the tour was a bit cheaper than in the big tourist centers in Finland… Thank you Melina for the...
Read moreOne of the best experiences we had during our Lapland visit. Melina is a very experienced guide. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. We had the opportunity to ride the sleigh by ourselves. Afterwards, we got to cuddle the dogs which made an amazing job during the whole trip. The cozy campfire afterwards with amazing food, delicious warm berry juice and coffee with cake (all cooked in an traditional way over the fire) was incredible. We are still uncertain if the salmon soup or the trip was better. The exchange during our food with Melina gave a great insight into the life of the natives. Every single question was directly answered. The atmosphere was very friendly, familiar and cozy.
Melina, thank you very much for a great experience. We enjoyed...
