GENERAL: Not a lot of ski slopes but great for the whole family and beginners. Also nearby big cities like Uppsala and Stockholm. They also have a 'fun park' and some ramps. There are a few restaurants. They don't have very extensive menus but enough variety
SLOPES: Positive: They have quite a variety of slopes and different degrees of difficulty. They also provide tools in case you need to adjust something on your skis or snowboard as well as free warm saft (juice) and water. Moreover, they have a few places to grill some sausages for lunch en several public bathrooms. They also provided glass houses with tables, benches, and microwaves for those who brought their own lunch and don't want to sit outside. When ordering food or making reservations you have to use the app (probably a COVID measure) which is a bit of a hassle if you don't have a Swedish phone number.
Negative: No fresh snow throughout the week. They blasted the snow canons the entire day but the snow wasn't spread out so half of the slopes were icy and the other half was closed. Definitely go during the weekends. Maybe during the holidays they do prep them more often.
LODGING: SKI APARTMENTS Positive: We stayed in the Ski Apartments which is right at the slope. This meant no dragging of skiing equipment to and from the slopes because you could ski down to the lifts and stop on the slopes next to the houses. Everything is new and nicely decorated. All the equipment is new. We had a microwave, oven, dishwasher, water kettle, coffee brewer, and a very nice TV. With four people it is the perfect amount of squared metres. The WiFi was very good. You can follow online classes and game online.
Negative: the apartment was still under construction. One of the walls of our house was not attached properly and could be shaken back and forth. None of the windows can open but there is a door to the balcony. Water took a while to heat up. The heating was also not heating up a lot. The bedrooms did not have a lamp on the ceiling but there were working reading lamps which compensated for it. The storage shed for the snowboards and skis is a wooden shed which is not warm enough to thaw the ice on your equipment. The website mentioned construction but not before 9:00. Unfortunately, at 8:15 the construction workers were working at the bedroomwindow and were looking inside while a couple was still in bed. There had been no...
Read moreGreat place to teach kids skiing. Great ski school, they train really well, in 1 day significant improvement in skills, after 3 days - absolutely another level of skiing.
we also try private lessons for adults - great improvement after that. highly recommend for beginners and middle. not sure about their extreme/experts level - but resort has many places where you can safely try different skiing tricks.
3 year in a row, alway a great time spending.
recommendations for owners: install toast machine in rooms will be great to build ice skating field for evening time spending will be great to make a car washing facility (many will agree to wash the car during staying on resort, especially if car can be taken and return back to the parking lot by personal) will be great to renovate mario-skiing track, the toy-statues are in bad condition the last day of staying was a very slow internet in apartment, smart tv freeze playing netflix & amazon prime movies. maybe its finally time to install fiber in all houses. create a dashboard for visitors, if somebody want to sell/buy used equipment no saft (sweet hot drinks) on top of the mountain (at least we cannot find one close to 17 track) was a little disorder when school busses arrieved, a little better organization will be great pizza place not working all 4 days we were on place. at least take-away pizza will be perfect to have; how about opennig a body massage room? a lot of people will be in queue
Great place, nice to see the development of it each year. We will try to visit...
Read moreJust two hours from Stockholm and close to Falun. Arrival with checking is self-serve. You get the room access at 15:00 (we got it earlier) you can pick up the keycards from a box with a code. The house has very high standards, nice view, warm and clean. Everything was great. Now about the ski hill, it is perfect for newbies and families with kids. The only negative was that it was icy and they didn’t add extra snow so it was dangerous to ski. A lot of falls because of that. |Lifts are perfect, not big queues. Restaurants, they have 3-4 different places you can buy food. A pizzeria (surprisingly very good pizza) an average of 140kr per pizza, a buffet restaurant (not really good food for the price of 260 kr per person without drinks, and another restaurant with a-la-carte menu but I recommend to book early because it is difficult to find table. For ordering is recommended to download their ordering app (just add your card and you don’t even need wallet with you). |The Lodge is also good with nice warm chocolate and fresh cinnamon buns. ||The staff is super helpful both at their chat in their website but also up in the resort.|I give 4 stars because of the not value for money buffet (doesn’t worth 250kr) food and...
