Chanced upon this castle during a visit to the Christmas market that was held on the estate. The outdoor Christmas market itself was simple with a small range of handicrafts, accessories, Christmas food and two food stalls with (hotdogs and burgers). Cost 100SEK for vehical entry to the grounds. The castle looks newer on the outside. The interiors of the building are antiquated, fascinating and feels almost medieval. Like many old castles, it is dim within as there are few windows that let in light. The walls and flooring are made of stone, giving the place an even icier effect in winter. There are 3 floors - a chapel and a smaller cafe on the ground floor, the second floor is a hall and on the third, there is another cafe that is larger and a restaurant. Although, there wasn't very much to do here, it was interesting to experience this castle that holds so much history. The staff are welcoming and cheerful and we had a nice fika of hot gulasch soup and tea.

We decided to treat my wife's mother on a Fika att Wenngarn bageri for Mother's day. The day was beautiful and the setting perfect, so it was a shame the bakery did not live up to the expectations, delivering what could only be described as a mediocre experience. The pastries were nothing out of the ordinary, the shrimp sandwich was made with a far too soft bread, and the service at the counter was somewhat flaky. The bakery needs to step it up before it's worth making the trip there again.

Recently renovated old castle that you can visit for free in your own. Nice old wine cellar and baroque church. Interesting information presented basically in every room. There is a little café on the ground floor. Lots of free parking and restaurants and cafés on the castle area. Good place for a day trip.

Strange experience. I believe it is in private hands. Saying "believe", because tgeres not much info on what it really is. The sign says "open", but when you enter the woman inside says its open only for "special occasions". So they kinda invite you in just to throw you out. Two small historic rooms on first floor are open and you can get a glimpse of the castle chapel through the third doorway and thats it.

Didnt really want to visit it, just had a huge amount of time, so took the after-lunch 40 minutes walk from Sigtuna. Castle needs more information in web about what it really is, monument open to visitors or building for meeting for hire. I seriously dont know what it is.

Wild baroque garden with impressive tree alleys is worth the walk though,...
