The idea of having it built into a mountain results in a very cool mood which is awesome for the courses. It also makes it so cheating is almost impossible since there's no cellphone service or WIFI. Don't be fooled by the cold entrance, because it will get hot inside.
When you've got your team set up and the concept explained you're ready to crush the challenges. Well, it's here you realize that it you should've been three people since some of the courses require that. This should have been stated at an earlier stage. Some of the courses is very challenging and you're left with no idea on what to do (other than getting help from the lovely staff which seems to know every course by hand).
The system used for the courses can be quite buggy, and your card may lock itself after numerous attempts rapidly after each-other. Therefore, you should always check if there's a red light when entering the room so you don't have to start all over again.
The courses is rated from 6 years and up which can be very misleading for families. Some of the courses is very tight and dark and is not suited for adults at all. Even myself had some struggles and I am 15 years old. One of the challenges required you to climb through a pitch black tunnel with some stairs- easy to wreck your head, so be careful and don't stress to much to get the best time.
When you've been trying to beat the courses for a while you can refill your energy in the cafe. They sell food, ice, soda, and more. Some food requires a little wait (30 minutes or so).
The staff is really helpful and nice, and if you are stuck they're there to help. Teamwork is key for the challenges and you have to try a couple of times to master the course, if you even can complete. Keep in mind that some of the maps can be really hard to complete for adults, and some can be impossible for children. You should always be at least three when visiting the facility.
The idea and concept is fun, but there is a lot that can be thought out more and redone. They also have a course based on the movie "Saw" if you feel brave. If you're really brave you can visit around Halloween, because then you will get an extra surprise when entering the course.
All in all a fun place to be if you're more than three with some kids, and some adults. You should bring clothes and shoes that are made for activities, and try to prevent bringing a lot of stuff. They do have lockers if you need to bring extra clothes,...
Read moreIt’s a great place almost like prison island in Alcatraz Luleå that’s now closed and is a lot of fun with friends. The place is located in a mountain that was an old military base and is really cool. You also don’t need any special equipment and no shoes as the staff makes you take them off. But be careful because some rooms are really hard and at some places in there it smells...
