It’s a beautiful canal. You would find it on the way if you are going to either Ramvik or Grosshamn. We didn’t have any boat to experience anything in the water. But just stopped by from the car to see it. May be you shouldn’t take a detour if you are not around.

Före Sotekanalen fanns var sjömän tvugna att passera de mycket olycksdrabbade Soteskär. Här misste många sjömän sina liv, och 1913 tog riksdagen ett beslut att bygga kanalen. Men det dröjde fram till 1931 tills första spadtaget togs. Arbetet utfördes i mest av arbetslösa stenhuggare. 15 juli 1935 var arbetet klart och kanalen invigdes av dåvarande kronprins...
