The most obvious choice for an outing from Malmö with kids. It has a bit of everything, long winding paths, a forest playground, some wooden outdoor exercise machines, a castle with deer on the grounds, two cafés for a motivational pancake or coffee, bikepaths, part of Skaneleden for the more adventorous looking for a longer excursion. Access by a full length, separate bikepath and a busline from Malmö. Be mindful of the schedule, the bus is very rare, but if you miss it, you can still walk to Bara to catch a more regular one.

This is an amazing place for a walk, picnic and camping. The Torup castle looks amazing. You can basically have a picnic anywhere in the area. But please, respect the nature and the other visitors. Parking is free and lots of spaces. It’s just confusing sometimes where to go as it’S huge. XEasy to drive by car. There is even buses going from Malmö City to the area. Just keep in mind to always check the last bus going back to Malmö if you are not planning to stay overnight. Especially during weekends.

A beautiful beech forest with marked tracks, 3, 5, 7 and 10 km. I visit minimum twice a year, for the green colors in spring and the orange colors in autumn. There is a playground and tracks for kids. Enjoy a fika at the cafeteria.

Torups bokskog is a popular recreational area that might appeal to some, but it falls short if you're looking for an authentic nature experience.

Atmosphere and Experience: 3/5

If you have children or a family and enjoy being around other people, this could be an ideal spot. The area is always crowded, and you’re never truly alone here. For me, this is a downside – when I go to nature, I seek peace and solitude, not crowds.

Activities and Facilities:

There are excellent opportunities for outdoor exercise. The jogging trails are well-maintained, and the outdoor gyms are well-equipped. If you enjoy combining nature with fitness and social interaction, this is a great place. However, if you’re looking for untouched nature and tranquility, this isn’t the right place.

Accessibility and Development:

Torup Beech Forest is highly developed, with railings, stairs, and other features making it very accessible. This is a plus for people with disabilities or those not accustomed to being in wilder natural settings. However, if you’re looking for a raw and genuine nature experience, this feels more like a managed park than a true forest.

Opportunities for Solitude:

If you’re willing to explore further and drive to more remote parts of the area, you can find less crowded spots. However, this takes time and effort, and it’s clear that Torup is designed to attract large numbers of visitors rather than offering pristine wilderness.

Summary

Torup Beech Forest offers an outdoor experience, not a real nature experience. It’s human-made, heavily managed, and crowded. If you’re seeking the peace and authenticity of nature, you’ll be disappointed. However, if you’re looking for an accessible outing with fitness options and a social atmosphere, this might be the place for...

Just lovely to know. A grand forest/park area. Lots of different paths to choose from. Just a short round ore the moore requiering ones. A nearby outdoor gym. A variety of parkingareas for cars. Faraway cafeteria ore the one just at the parkingareas to reach just upon the hill. A nice indoor ore outdoor tables. Ordinary stuff in the menu. Not to simple but just a sodapop ore bubblie water as well as something varm moore fodielike are for sale. If been training there are facilites to get ready. Now to some words of sorroundings. This wearabout is a rare place with the special forest framing the path ways of there kind. Some, but faire, wild life. Water in different shapes, often with some birds around. This place are well worth visiting. Some distance out on the southern Sweden landscape. Lots of nice activities to enjoy, take part of. And, climatefriendly, well I...
