Because of reaction by the museum I'm going to redact my review: the museum is limited to a couple of buildings: one building to drink a coffee or tea. Next to it is a nice building with a self made carpet, made by locals, with history of scandinavian history. I would not go so far as to compare it with the carpet of Bayeux. And if my memory serves me well, another building with different pieces about wild life and other relevant items for the location. That on its own is worth a visit for maybe 1,5 hours. If its fit for children... not sure about that.
The museum is also positioned next to a couple of older buildings. At the museum location a map on a pole is placed with a walking route of the site of the museum. This is also shown in one of the pictures on Google Maps. In that way it would suggest that this is part of the whole experience, but according to the reaction of the Utmarksmuseet, that's not the case!
