Utmarksmuseet — Attraction in Torsby kommun

Because of reaction by the museum I'm going to redact my review: the museum is limited to a couple of buildings: one building to drink a coffee or tea. Next to it is a nice building with a self made carpet, made by locals, with history of scandinavian history. I would not go so far as to compare it with the carpet of Bayeux. And if my memory serves me well, another building with different pieces about wild life and other relevant items for the location. That on its own is worth a visit for maybe 1,5 hours. If its fit for children... not sure about that.

The museum is also positioned next to a couple of older buildings. At the museum location a map on a pole is placed with a walking route of the site of the museum. This is also shown in one of the pictures on Google Maps. In that way it would suggest that this is part of the whole experience, but according to the reaction of the Utmarksmuseet, that's not the case! All those buildings are most of the time closed, so not really worth your while. If they could be visited, then the whole experience would...

Very interesting, tells an unknown story, and great craftmanship from the local ladies. When the movie is shown, there are lots of details of the tapistry given away. After short time we then looked away so the tapistry was still to be discovered...

Wat een leuke verrassing! We wisten niet goed wat we konden verwachten en zijn onder indruk van het werk en de grootte van het doek!

Vorig jaar in Bayeux over de battle of Hastings, nu over de pelgrimstocht van Zweden naar Noorwegen!

Film met uitleg en lekkere koffie. Boetiek & toilet aanwezig.

In de tuin ook oude huizen te zien en een ruimte met de dieren in deze omgeving.
