An absolute must-see in Uppsala. If you pay to enter the Linnaeus Garden in the city itself, entry here is free, and vice-versa. The price of a ticket is great value, as both places are not only fascinating, but also incredibly beautiful- utterly breathtaking. You either need to take the bus, a car, or cycle to get here, as there's a bit of a trek, but the countryside is very pleasant and the place is definitely worth it. I have seldom been anywhere so gorgeous! The grounds are utterly charming, with a great little cafe-gift shop as well. Staff are lovely. The house itself is fascinating, and very well-preserved. It helps you get to know the famous botanist and his family rather well. Our English language tour was expertly conducted, and is probably one of the best guided tours I've ever been on. I'm definitely coming back! Tack så mycket!

It is very easy to book a guided tour from their website. Guided tour in English is available once per day at 12.30. The guided tour is perhaps my favorite part of the visit: very interesting facts about the life and works of Linnaeus! Since we visit in early spring not much of the plants has blossomed so it is better to visit in late spring or in summer. Still had a very refreshing walk in the naturreservat around it. The staffs are very helpful as well.

Beautiful and nicely preserved site. Worth a visit not only if you are interested in biology but also if you are curious about the life at the time. Beware though that the house itself is very kid-unfriendly and the staff is quite unwelcoming. Nothing extraordinary compared to other parts of the world but if you already got spoiled by kid-friendly Sweden, this may come as an unpleasant surprise.

If you have time when visiting Uppsala in Sweden, try to squeeze in a visit to the Linnaeus' Hammarby located a few minutes from town. Unlike the botanical gardens in town this museum has preserved both the 18th century buildings and the gardens and the park which gives a unique insight to Linnaeus and his work. Well worth a visit

Great atmosphere, very interesting tour in the summer residence of Carl Linnaeus, very good café with seats between apple and pear trees. The cultural reserve surrounding the estate is great for a bit of hiking and is free to visit even if you're not interested in visiting the house and garden
