Kronoberg Castle Ruin — Attraction in Växjö kommun

Historically interesting ruin. Beware, though, ruin means, in this case, that there are almost no roofs to protect from rain.

Very nice cafeteria nearby (with awesome waffles), with seats indoors as well as outdoors. Check if it's open, though. It's not open wintertime or late fall.

It's also one of the anchor points for Thor, the steamship that makes tourist trips in th summer.

We took a return trip from Nybro and stopped by this old castle ruin. We were a bit disappointed, because the courtyard was not worth seeing. All the other rooms were not accessible due to risk of falling rocks. There is no entrance fee at the moment. The castle is more beautiful from the outside currently. Explanations were in English and Swedish. A toilet is...

Its an interesting place for history lovers. There are a couple of stands with pictures and information about the life in the castle etc. If you're thinking about visiting, do it in summer time because otherwise it will be closed and you wont get in. In winter time you'll be go around and explore it but wont be able to get it if you are scared of ruin...
